Beth's routine like a weaker version of Laura's 3 years ago?

What on earth was that about? Same song, similar outfit and not only that but several regurgitated moves...why?! I just watched Laura's back and it's a lot smoother and works better as a routine. Beths was slower and clunkier, definitely her worst so far. Strange decisions all round there...and absolutely no need to repeat past performances and songs like that

I couldn't help but compare it to Laura's routine either. I like Beth but her version wasn't as good as Laura's.

She should not have been given a graceless routine like that. Beth is a brilliant, elegant skater, she should be given better routines where she can show emotion just like the other two IMO.

Welcome to Suzanne's world for the last 2-3 weeks.

It's utterly bizarre because that was a good routine for Laura showing an equal mix of character and skill but all of it was laboured here, I think partly the fault of the choreography, a little with Beth but really it seems so lazy to repeat it again especially in an inferior way when we know Beth can do better. ..

They been repeating a lot of bits of old routines. At least Beth added two new big moves. Suzanne has added some big moves, but bits of her routines have been seen before too . Neither Beth or Suzanne got much credit for doing the big new risky moves. Hayley did one new looking medium lift early on , but she's now doing pre Jai Ho series standard routines - with fewer tricks rather than more. Ray is skating perhaps a bit better, but he's not adding moves or doing more, or bigger, lifts - at least we didn't get teh same leaps again this week....

Bizarrely, they have shown some people doing far harder moves in training well - but the moves haven't been seen yet. It seems a bit odd to keep big moves for the last stages when you may not get there.

More or less agree. I can see why people say Hayley's routines play to her performance strengths but she didn't appear to really do anything tonight and doesn't even do basic tricks like she could do in Jai Ho. (I like Hayley so don't want this to sound like I'm bashing her but she's going to have to pull off some big moves to get anywhere near the standard of the competition.)

And what were the VTs about? I noticed that a couple of times where they showed moves in training that they never did on the show.

There's an Interesting twitter conversation tonight between Clare and Kyran, about whether you should bother with difficulty and if its rewarded on the show. He also tells us that Suzanne was going to do a loop jump next week - another female first - which may be what we saw on her VT. he points out went out performing the only standing exit to a headbanger ever seen too.

Looks like the combination of twists and voters has succeeded in rewarding simplicity and risk avoidance, and penalsing trying some new difficulty. I wonder if Kyran will go before he gets to show his axel jump too?

Just rewatched Laura's routine, while it was full of energy, it was pretty clunky in places and her footwork wasn't as good as Beth's IMO. Her speed and performance covered up a lot of issues.

Spot on. I did like Laura a lot and IMO she was wonderful but she was pretty clunky and in some of her performances she wasnt as good as Beth. She was better on acting and performance.
