An interesting art project here (I found it on io9, link here) that imagines a fifth anniversary with Hartnell and Troughton, and Cushing!

The detail is quite incredible, as the telesnaps show...

I found it fascinating.

Funny how the show pops up in the most random places and when your least expecting it

(Don't worry it's in the first minute, nothing spectacular)

That's incredible!

I wish, just for a one off this year, the Beeb would run a trailer like that. Then end with a new clip of Capaldi saying "do ya wanna come with me?"

Apologies if already posted.

A nice Eccleston/Tennant/Smith time war mash up.

I wish he had more than one series to his belt.

Wow, I'm surprised I neded this clip to be reminded how much Matt Smith stamped himself over the role of Doctor Who. Who'd have thunked it all those years ago... Miss you Matt!

Aww. For such an irritating child I was pleased to see her happy.

Stewart Lee's column in The Obverser today talks about the BBC not being very good at preserving their history. And plenty more Beeb related. Amongst the examples are;

"...the Troughton era Doctor Who serial 'Embarrassment of the Inseminoids", where Doctor Who lands on Mars with a sign on his TARDIS saying "Martian Benders" and punches Jamie in the sporran when his tea arrives cold." (What could he possibly be alluding to there. Heh.)

The artwork has a drawing of the TARDIS with said sign.

The article ends;

"....Doctor Who, that curious, questing, idealistic creature who embodies everything we so want to believe should also define the BBC."

Like that! Worth checking out, unless you can't stand Stew of course!

Edit: Sorry, don't know how to do links. Oh, his short list for the Thirteenth Doctor is, um, interesting.

I can't believe The End of Time is in any way associated with a 'best of' list. Pleased Bad Wolf/Parting of the Ways is there though, probably my favourite end of series two-parter. Surprised Journeys End ranked so highly but I suppose series four is inexplicably popular so perhaps should contain my 'shock horror' slightly.

Other than that it's not too bad. Pleased Vincent and the Doctor did so well, it's my favourite episode of new who.

That surely must be America. I saw it in the cinema and believe me the atmosphere was amazing. Capaldi eyebrows got a cheer but that sounds like it was whooping and clapping every 5 seconds. Think I would have found that a tad annoying

Misinformed anorak-laden know-it-alls rank the entire revival.
