Best arc of nu who

What arc have you enjoyed most throughout nu who and it could be a small arc.

I loved the 9th/10th Doctors' story during seasons 1-4 and the way it all came together in Stolen Earth/Parting of the Ways.

I liked River's story too - I think it got a little overly complicated at times, but overall I loved it and Alex Kingston in particular.

I enjoyed Jack's story too. I still think there's a lot more to tell there!

For sheer creativity, it has to be the series 4 arc for me. series 1-3 had gotten us used to simple phrases like 'bad wolf' or 'mr saxon' sprinkled throughout the series, and then a story based on that phrase at the end. Then along comes series 4, and there seems for most of the series to be no clear arc. The bee's disappearing line reoccurring was noticeable, but thing's like an odd planet going missing in random episodes were just woven into plot's rather than made obvious, and a situation had been subtly created wherby the doctor had, without realising, kept bumping into donna and her family multiple times seemingly by chance. Then suddenly the finale comes and it's suddenly - remember some planet's going missing?, remember the bee's disappearing?,remember how the doctor and donna kept meeting? well guess what, it's all part of one multi layered, intricately woven finale. As others have mentioned, having all of the companion's in it, and the addition of harriet jones, and mention of bad wolf, it really does feel like the culmination of everything that came before it.

Clara's arc. It was inspired and also not too long for it to feel dragged out.

I'd say River's arc, when I found out that she was Rory and Amy's Child, after so long of waiting to find out who she was, I nearly wet myself with excitement!

the whole mini-arc between name and time of the Doctor has to be my favourite

Just Bad Wolf. Very subtle and not pushed tediously into your face every week, with a definitive pay off rather than a series of ever less interesting questions.

Trenzalore is where "no living creature can ... fail to answer" is it? Yeah, he could obviously be bothered planning ahead with that one.

Yes, I loved Bad Wolf too. A simple, occasional link between stories that built to a superb season climax and which was properly concluded in the final episode of that season. And it all made sense too.

I completely agree the series 4 of arc was definitley one of the best a bit more of a story than series 1 - 3 and not as complicated as ones in 5 - 7. It was also very subtedly put in there and I really enjoyed it.

Definitely the Bad Wolf arc. I also liked the arc of season 4 and the build up of quick cameos of Rose. Not a fan of the River or Silence arcs.

I didn't enjoy the river song arc or the silence arc they both had potential but as they went on they became too much.

Clara arc and crack-on-wall arc.

I enjoyed the Series 4 arc as well, thought it was great how the Doctor/Donna storyline was there from the first episode and the whole Rose subplot added in made it interesting as well. Also loved the Bad Wolf Arc from Series 1 as at the time it was fresh and original and in the case of both these examples they lasted just one Series and not for three frigging years......

Don't know if anyone was aware but in Tooth and Claw there was going to be a small arc plot with Queen Victoria. Apparently after creating Torchwood, she was going to create a new football team as well.

It was going to be called Queen's Arc Rangers........

Bad Wolf arc from Series 1 and the Vote Saxon arc from Series 3 - subtle, intriguing and with satisfying pay-offs IMO.

Donna and Wilf's arc from Voyage Of The Damned to The End Of Time. Still brings a smile to my face and beautifully potrayed by both Caroline Tate and Bernard Cribbens. The most heartbreaking moment for me was seeing Wilf tearfully blowing a kiss to the Doctor just before he regenerated. Never been bettered. Although Amy and Rory's final moments brought us back to those kind of quality moments that had been lacking in Series 6.
