If he doesn't appear suddenly on a bicycle with booming dance tunes in his head created out of everyday sounds, then I don't want to know.

What?!

Smiley? No, it just speculation. Anyway, I've seen him in a couple of other things, and he's good for those, but not the Master.

It seems someone else doesn't want him as the Master. not everyone on DS wants the Master to be back.

Personally, I want to see Benedict Cumberbatch as the Master. He'd be better at the role.

Thinking about it, I didn't know JS's Master had 'died'. Last I knew, he was taken back with Gallifrey and the Time Lords and was 'Time Locked'.

If we go with the "Who" timeline, as it is now, with John Hurt's Doctor having frozen the Time War before it ended, then yes, the Master will have died at the end of Series 3.

What, like a drumbeat in his head?

I would buy him as a crazed irresponsible monk, though.

No to cumberbatch as the Master. Great actor, but this casting choice is too mundane.

ha ha definitely, I was trying to think where I knew his face from, then your comment brought it straight back for me.

I love Sherlock, but casting Benedict Cumberbatch as the master, given his close association with the character of Sherlock, would be nothing but an attempted rating's gimmick, and I for one think that, for all his flaws, Moffat has more imagination than that.

I feel I'm in a minority because I honestly don't want to see Cumberbatch (or anyone from Sherlock) as the Master.

Smiley I think is just playing a character in one episode.

If you read the post's above your own, you'll see that there are two post's (one mine) also saying they don't want this either. in fact, if there was a poll, I would guess you would be in the majority of people on this subject.

As for smiley or any potential new master, I don't really mind as long as their good, and simm get's at least a regeneration scene, even though I think he should stay longer.

I can see maybe some of the younger possibly wanting Cumberbatch but me personally, nah.

I did catch your post there now though.

Judging by this guy's face, I'd say he'd be an old Rory.

As in any sci-fi: we can't know it for certain if we never saw it. We didn't see him get taken back with them. In fact, I think that was done on purpose, so there would be no need for any contrived story as to why the Master is back, but not the rest of the Timelords...

Here's hoping for Charles Dance:

Firstly I' d like to see at least one more story with Simm, but after that both Smiley and Benedict could be good Masters.
