I am running a number of polls to discover the favourite story for each Doctor. This one is for the Fourth Doctor.

Please note: The poll can sometimes take a while to appear.

This poll will be open for 7 days.

To be cliched - Genesis Of The Daleks

Then The Deadly Assassin

He had a few rather good ones, didn't he.

Pyramids,Assassin and Warrior's Gate leap out at me as they are absolutely brilliant, but for sheer entertainment value and because I just love it to bits...I'll plump for The Androids of Tara!

SUCH a tough choice but I went for Zygons, just because (a) the Zygons are amazing and (b) the story had dated really well too. It was also Sarah Jane at her best!

Hard to choose. But my two faves are usually Deadly Assassin and Talons of Weng-Chiang, but I went for Deadly Assassin because I feel it is more memorable and important in the general scheme of things.

My other main faves are Pyramids of Mars, Face of Evil, Robots of Death, Horror of Fang Rock, Stones of Blood, City of Death, State of Decay...

My favourites are the same as Meglosmurmurs', but I chose Weng Chiang in the end.

another cliched poster here going for genesis of the dalek's. I think the point though is it is a cliche to like it because so many people realise how good it is. A great origin story, introducing a formidable new character in the form of davros, and a dilemma for the doctor, to top it off. it just works, nuff said.

If I could have picked two though, I would have also said city of death. multi-time spanning setting, multi-fake mona lisa's, and most importantly romana in that schoolgirl outfit

Hard choice. But went for The Seeds of Doom.

Talons by a country mile.

Great cast, great story. Best Leela story going I think.

Very tough one this. Seven years to choose from! Genesis was a pretty good one - but it wasn't exactly a dalek story was it? How often did they appear in it? Not much...it was all bitchy soldiers!
I finally decided on 'Talons' - a good victorian-style adventure, with a touch of Sherlock! (let's forget that RAT )

Really, really, really spoiled here. Talons, Robots, Seeds, Zygons, City, the list just goes on. Even guilty pleasures like Sunmakers, Pirate Planet and Kroll.

One of my all time faves is very guilty indeed - The Horns of Nimon!

So hard to pick a favourite Tom Baker story, I plumped for The Deadly Assassin. Genesis and Talons close 2nd and third,

Reading the posts here just serves as a great reminder of how brilliant Four's era was.

I actually voted for The Deadly Assassin in the end.

I would vote for Talons, Genesis and City of Death before any of the other Doctors stories in a general vote. Robots of Death, Terror of the Zygons, Seeds of Doom, Deadly Assassin, Image of Fendahl, The Stones of Blood and The Ark in Space are right up there as well.

But my favourite story of all time is Pyramids of Mars so it must be favourite Tom Baker as well

Got to be Brain of Morbius, followed by Destiny of the Daleks. Finishing my top 3 of the best TB DW stories, it has to be Meglos.

This is a real toughie, because I like different stories for different reasons. Pyramids Of Mars is the best for quality, City Of Death for it's humour and sophistication, but for sentimental reasons it has to be Logopolis.

Ridiculously difficult question but I think you've named my two favourites there (shocked face is because we never like the same stories :P)

But there's a dozen Tom Baker stories that can be my favourite at any given time.

The law of averages says we have to agree sometime!

The Robots of death for me.

I went for Robots of Death but could have easily chosen Ark in Space, Genesis, Pryamids, Seeds, Talons or Deadly Assassin. Som many good ones!

So hard to choose one. There are sooooo many good stories that I like from Toms era. As a child I was scared witless by many if the early stories eg The Ark in Space, Pyramids of Mars, Robots of Death. I eventually went for Talons!! We tend to blame the producers and writers etc for bad stories and eras so all credit to the producers and writers of this wonderful era.

voted for Genesis of the Daleks but City of Death is a close second

I went with "The Pyramids of Mars" but there really are so many good episodes in Baker's first 3 1/2 years that it's hard to choose.

How could one not vote for Genesis of the Daleks?

I'm at a slight disadvantage on this poll over the first three as I'm only up to Brain of Morbius in my rewatch so the others are less fresh in my memory!

I still think Genesis stands out, though, which is what I went for.

The other one that I have very fond memories of is Robots of Death.

I pretty much agree with all the ones doing well right now: Talons of Weng Chiang was a great period piece and a lovely story for Leela, I loved the riddles and all the Egyptology in Pyramids and, of course, City of Death was hilarious with the Doctor and Romana on top form, as I recall.

Special mention to K9 and the robot Parrot in the Pirate Planet. I don't remember the story at all but K9 shooting at the Parrot is a lasting memory
