How to find out what app' generates a notification?

Just something that's been bugging me for a week or so....

I have THIS weather widget installed on my Android tablet and it generates a notification (presumably every time it updates) which says stuff like "4° and cloudy".

Over the last week or so I've noticed another weather notification appearing as well and that one says summat like "44° and cloudy".

Thing is, the fact that this new notification seems to be providing the temperature in fahrenheit, rather than centigrade, suggests it's coming from a different app' cos the weather widget I've installed should be providing info' in metric.

So, just wondering if there's any way to determine what app' is generating a notification so I can decide whether or not there's a good reason to keep it or whether I can delete it.
As far as I'm aware, there aren't any other weather-type app's on the tablet so I've got no idea where the notifications are coming from.

well you can temporarily disable notifications by app using the App manager settings, so turn it off for the weather app and check if the funny notification is still generated.

I don't off hand know of a way to pinpoint which app sends which notification, though there is a long-winded way installing the Desktop Notifications app, which will track everything that creates a notification, but its not really what its designed to do...

Have you checked that the app and widget are not both sending updates? Seems more likely to be that than a second app.

Depends on the version of Android, I think, but on newer versions you can long-press on the notification to get an "app info" button, which in turn will lead to the app info page for whichever app sent the notification.
