Just looked at my planner expecting it to be there - nope. Did a quick check of all related C5 channels just in case - nothing. Checked to see if they were doing an extravaganza of performances and results on a Sunday - nope. Bemused and starting to feel a bit irritated I check the net and find the douchebags at C5 have decided to drop this 'now' and run it in the summer (wtf ) when it's over. Super annoyed because it makes no sense.

Years ago I'd have been annoyed if they kept shifting it around in the schedules, but seeing as I record everything and watch it at my convenience, this would have been inconsequential to me. This happened with Oz and Arrested Development and I faithfully stayed up til the very early hours of the morning to check and monitor the recording just in case there were mishaps Shuffle it - maybe. Drop it midway - you seawards.

I despise you C5.

I would like to add my annoyance at the stopping of American Idol just as they reached the final 13. It makes no sense and is probably counter-productive as viewers will not trust 5* to broadcast a complete series of anything in future.
A shot in the foot methinks.

Bugger!!! I wondered what had happened. I love this show and have been watching it for years. This season has been brilliant as well, great judges and great singers.
Oh no! Cancelled?? I just came on here to see what was happening when I couldn't find AI anywhere on my weekend guide. How ridiculous!! I wonder why? This year's judging panel is great, they're entertaining and have a good chemistry, and that goes a long way to making the programme watchable, IMO.

GRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrr.

xx
Agree. The addition of Harry Connick Jnr to the panel is a masterstroke. He is so funny. And Keith Urban is always worth watching. (Like his new haircut BTW).

It's not rocket science you can work it out especially when you've asked so politely.

I was about to watch American Idol, went to my Sky Planner and see that it hadn't recorded. I thought maybe I didn't series link it, but that can't be right as it's been series linked all season. Come on here to see it's been cancelled. Really dissapointed, and for it to be done midway is crap.

I must say though, this is the first year since I started watching American Idol back in season 5, that I actually never watched any of the auditions. I only started watching from the Hollywood rounds as I hadn't seen any auditions yet and had so many episodes to catch up on I just deleted them.

I think the final 13 is one of the poorest that I can remember, for me personally anyway. I normally at least have a few to root for. I find most of the guys could all sing the same thing. Being a fan of urban music there's no one there to appeal to me. Well, I feel there's than one girl, the black one with the braces, but even her I'm not too sure about. So overall I am dissapointed.

I still would've watched though, but now I'm gonna have to watch it online? I'm gonna have to think about that as it seems like a bit of an effort to find decent links for a season I don't seem to have any interest in. It's poor that they just cancel it like that and is actually laughable that they said they'll show it in the summer. Like, what is the actual point in that!

As long as you're checking stuff online I would also recommend Michael Slezak's stuff for tvline.com (it's called Reality Check this year,) Some brilliant and funny critiques of each show.

I too was really disappointed that Channel 5 axed AI as I am a complete addict, but there is a god out there as I found every episode on You Tube. All you need to do is type in American Idol 2014 full episode then click on the one you want to watch.

I have a Tivo and noticed nothing scheduled for last weekend but thought maybe a week off now it's down to the proper shows.

This week nothing again so I do a search for all tv and American Idol is not even an option! So I google about and the only report of it being pulled was here in DS.
Been watching since it was shown on ITV2 and was annoyed at first they did not show it on Ch5 for HD reasons but now completely gone and will no doubt hear the winner but the time they show it.

If they thought that had no viewers before then what are they going to get if they do decide to show it in the summer? I not be 1 of them that's for sure and I'm not going to mess around hunting on the net etc.

Pathetic

The full episodes on youtube look to be all uploaded by one user and have a giant ad on the side of the screen.

But if you don't mind that it works perfectly with TiVo's youtube App. Picture is amazing much preferable to watching it on your laptop etc (for me anyway) .

I've given up this year though...I maintain the acts are naff for by Idol standards and all the comments on the blogs say the same. Judge - fine, acts - rubbish.

I miss looking at J-lo, beautiful creature she is.

Wow poor show by Channel 5... then again I've never forgiven them for ditching the baseball/ice hockey coverage.

How pathetic and disgusting to stop broadcasting a show halfway through the series! They'll show the rest in June? What's the point of that? The momentum of the show is now ruined and we'll get to hear who the winner is long before then! Very bad form from C5.

As in, every Monday at 4pm?! How ridiculous.

I know who wins anyway, so not sure there's much point in me watching it now.

No from what I can make out Mon-Fri at 4pm. Even more ridiculous if you ask me.

I have no idea who wins but with the hiatus I have no idea who any is either

Yeah, I checked the Sky Planner. And they've not even got the performance and results show on the same day. They're starting with a performance show at 4pm today, then that results show will be on at 1pm tomorrow, with the next performance show at 4pm tomorrow, and so on and so on.

I can remember the winner, and the runner-up, and a couple of others from the top 13, but that's it.

Do you think we should take this as notice from 5* that if next years AI is shown in the UK it sure as hell won't be on their channel.

Quite possibly. That, or hopefully they'll loan from their mistake of sticking it on at such a random time. I don't know what other things 5* show, but surely they could easily put it on at 8pm on a weekday?

Well, I've set my PVR and will probably watch the programmes eventually. I have managed not to hear the result so far, but don't recall any of the contestants being particularly good.

I think the first one is at 4pm but then subsequent episodes are shown two per day. one at 1pm and one at 4pm.

Time of day never really matters to me as I just record it and watch it later. To be honest, it's better that it's not in a prime time spot as it would inevitably cause me scheduling problems with all my other stuff.

I was originally going to watch the rest of the series online but I never got round to it so I'm quite looking forward to watching it now.
