Power cut and safe food
We've had a power cut from 7.15 am to 15.30. Does anyone know if the meat kept in the fridge and food in the freezer will be safe? I checked in the freezer and the food seemed frozen still, just worried.

It will be fine - but stop opening the doors. If you keep letting the air in, it wont be.
Last October we were off for about 2 days. We had to throw away a few bits in the fridge, but the freezer was fine. |

Back when I worked at the Electricity Board (many, many moons ago) we used to advise 12 hours so long as you didn't open your freezer but it was only a benchmark number. If it seems alright, it probably is.
I can't remember the time-frame for food in t'fridge. |
