Buffering
I'm using this on my PS3 for the first time today and I can't get through a 23 minute episode of Alpha House without massive buffering and freezing!
Netflix works fine. If this is the service then it is unwatchable!

Personally, I think using the term season is better.
You have a series comprised of several seasons. The series finale is the end. In the UK a series finale means nothing; is it the final show, or will there be more? Who knows? |

Because this is Britain and not America. We use Series in our culture. And the fact that someone actually went through and changed it, to me says it all, the arrogance of this company. I object to this creeping smug Americanisation that Amazon brings, that it can do whatever it wants. They can do business here, but they should respect local culture and norms and localise as much of their web content as possible.

OK......how the frack do you change the rental plan for Lovefilm by Post? Or is there now just 1 plan?
It actually seems like everyone is stuck on whatever package they had at the time of the change! Maybe it's another hint that they plan to close the dvd rental service completely at some point? I hope not. I don't want to watch everything online. I prefer to have the dvds for all the extras, and to try and avoid the internet overuse charges. Also the new layout looks rubbish, not a patch on the Lovefilm website, and there is not enough helpful information and FAQs. Plus a lot of the rental history is missing, as someone else pointed out. I wish they had left it all alone. When Amazon first took over Lovefilm, I didn't mind because everything stayed the same, (apart from no more Nectar points from the rentals), but this feels like a step backwards. The Cinema Paradiso website looks interesting. Quite a good selection. Thank you Peter the Great for mentioning them. I had not heard of them before, and although it says world cinema, they have a lot of the stuff that is available on Lovefilm. |

Something else I've just noticed, you don't seem to be able to give a star rating to each rental, without writing a review, and all my previous ratings have disappeared.

Constant buffering and switching to poor quality SD and some titles had no sound! Everything was fine before this so why they couldn't just leave it alone I don't know? |

Yes, this is what I want to know too! There used to be a list of the different packages available on the old Lovefilm website, but I can't find this on the new site.

By the way if you click on the about us tab on the Cinema Paradiso site you get the following: We appreciate your candid questions and we're very happy to let you know that we are a long established independent British company; in fact we'll soon be celebrating our tenth anniversary. We're very proud of our British roots and we most certainly pay all our UK taxes! Now who do you think they are having a little dig at there?

No buffering after the stream has started and no freezing. NB: I am on fibre broadband with Virginmedia which usually ensures a solid connection. |

Used it last night Airplaying from iPad and I've got to say quite impressed, no buffering and from hitting play to actually seeing it in the screen was maybe 5-10 seconds. Watched "The Impossible" and the pilot of "Bosch" hope they decide to make the series.

It hasn't been too bad on my PS3. It buffers at the start for about 10 seconds then the quality slowly improves as the video gets going..
Tried this again last night and, sure, the quality ramps up, similar to Netflix, but the sound and picture quality still aren't as good as Netflix. Also, about 30 mins in to Looper, it started buffering and then got stick on a grey screen with a spinning circle for ages so I just switched off. Got it for nothing until November so I'll keep checking it out but, currently, there's no way I'm going to continue with this and if they don't split the Prime membership in some way I'll just go back to using the free postage - especially considering the number of times Prime stuff has been late! |

It can take a couple of minutes for the stream to reach it's optimum level, which compared to Netflix is poor, but once established the quality remains throughout.

I've been usng it this way for about 6 months and it's worked fine. |

I wish Amazon would give an option for streaming quality like Netflix does (my BB is not great)
Tried watching a film last night and got buffering every few seconds for 10 minutes, give up and watched Netflix, this streamed without any buffering |

If you have late deliveries with Prime, contact Amazon I've had an extra 2 months added, due to late delivery. |

The thing is at the moment it is doing that even if you do have good broadband.
For me, it has been like this since they started the service with Lovefilm instant, so not hopeful of any changes |

Well I streamed to things last night and both were faultless. Using Apple TV and my BB is only 8Mb so nothing fancy.

I would like to see some type of option to restrict how much data it sends (ie SD only) If my BB fluctuates and goes upto 2.2Mb then it starts to buffer as it cannot do this speed reliably If my BB goes down to 1.8Mb then it buffers as this is too slow for the service I compare this to the Xbox Video app which works similar (just started using this recently for rentals), if my speed goes up the quality gets better, if it goes down the quality reduces, no buffering, IMO, this is what Amazon should be doing Both services as far as I know recommend 2Mb as minimum |

Since they made all our deliveries via 'Amazon Logistics' they've been better, it was always Yodel who were the problem. |

Already have done. The line they take now is that we've had it extended by the maximum they'll allow.

It was alright for me until the update yesterday. My broadband speed is 30mb and Netflix will give me full HD in under 20 seconds of streaming. What is worse is what the update has done to the app on my TV. It worked perfectly before but after yesterday it will not allow me to stream anything. I just get the spinning yellow circle and then it puts my TV into stand by.

I've always had problems everytime Amazon have used Yodel with it turning up a day or two late. Not impressed with the on Instant Video so far as I have been unable to stream any video using my Samsung Smart Hub app on my blueray player, which Netflix works fine on.
