Torvill and Dean. Barnum routine

Is it just me who prefers this routine over the Bolero? I've obviously seen it before, but I've been watching it again on YouTube just now and its mesmerisingly brilliant. They received a perfect score for that as well. Obviously everyone remember the Bolero because it was their Olympic winning routine, but Barnum was as good if not better IMO.

Thanks for this. Never seen this before, it's fab.

I'm sick of Bolero too, it has been done to death now. It would be nice for another of their routines to get a mention now and again.

I loved the Paso doble routine that was their original dance at the 1984 Olympics, I was dispointed that they didn't show any of that in "The Perfect Day" documentary!

Yes, I love Barnum! I also love the Mack & Mable routine from the previous year:-

Barnum is very entertaining. I prefer Bolero though.

Some of T&Ds professional routines are incredible too and worth seeking out if anyone is interested or hasn't seen them before. I particularly like Still Crazy.

Yes, I love Mack and Mable as well.

I'm not taking anything away from the Bolero, but it's almost like they never ever did anything else in the eyes of the media.

I've said this before but Bolero barely makes it into my top 10 TnD routines most of the time.

I prefer Mack and Mabel or Barnum, rather than Bolero. Michael Crawford's face when they got a row of sixes for Barnum was a picture!

It's like choosing between my children (if I had any)

In no particular order... (channelling Schofe)

Mack and Mabel (my earliest memory was Worlds 82 and watching with my mum)
Barnum
Paso Doble
Historia De Un Amor II (HOW I wish that had become a CD as planned!!)
Song of India
Encounter
Oscar Tango
Still Crazy (1998 version)
Sarabande (Six Gestures video version, not the '96 WTC version)
Diablo Tango

Not a Bolero among them though I will admit to a tear or two when they did it on tour 5 years ago! Sometimes Bolero does make a reappearance in my top 10 at the expense of Sarabande. Missing sometimes moves in and out too, as does Revolution/Imagine, Flying Fish, Low-Commotion and Drum Duet purely for the VILE but hilarious early 90s costumes.

Fire and Ice is in a class all on its own and absolutely nothing to do with a tasselly thong...
