Thankfully the $=£ thing died out some time ago.
A $400 price tag should equate €400 and £350. We still get stung, of course, but not as badly as we once did. |

Well $600 for the Rift turned out to be €700 so I'm not quite as confident about the pricing. But if PSVR was priced at $400 and it turned out to be less than €500 I'd be ok with that.
PS4 launched at $399/€399/£350, so it seems reasonable to me that they'll follow the same pattern. General rule of thumb seems to be $=€ then minus ~ 15% and rounded off to get £s. Let's be honest, it's moot until they actually reveal the price though. |

If it is, it won't look like it does in the demos. However, if they pull it off it'll be quite a coup. I'd get it, the headset and the PS4 I don't have yet as well.
I also think NMS will be a launch PSVR title. I'd bet my hat on it. |

Rumour time.
Someone on Raddit is claiming to have been given some information by a Sony rep. According to them, the headset itself should go on sale for $299. For those that don't have the PS Camera, it will be available in a bundle with 2 Move controllers and a game for $129. It all sounds pretty reasonable. Time will tell if it turns out to be true. |

My local Game are selling the PS4 camera brand new for £39.99 and the Move controllers can be picked up cheap many places so hopefully in this country it wont be a case of changing the $ sign for the £ sign and the proper price is available. Same with the $299.

As much as I'd like it to be true I think it's a little optimistic. |

The headset alone is 300 beans. But you can get the headset, camera, two controllers and a game for 130 beans ? That can't be right. You'd basically be getting the headset for free in that bunduru. 300 sounds fine for the headset tho. That might be around €350 for me which is perfect. I'm just hoping for €400 or less. I've been toying with the move controllers. Will I get the PS3 ones or wait for shiny PS4 ones. I'm leaning towards the PS4 ones. |

I hope the camera bundle is reasonable. I'd love to try the VR out first though just to see what it is like because I've never tried anything like it before. I tried to use a cheaper one but it wouldn't work in the shop.
I think if the PS3 ones work fine then they will do for me. |

Sony / retailers might have a tough time communicating to customers what they actually need to get started. There would doubtless be some people who get a headset home to find it's useless without going back and spending more money on a camera etc. Cue Internet raging. But at the same time, it would be unreasonable to bundle the whole lot together and make those of us that have a camera buy another one we don't need. Also, they need to get that entry price point as low as possible if they want to be successful. This does seem the most likely way to do it. |

Talking of which do you actually need Move controllers? I thought the light bar on the Dualshock 4 replicates the Move controller.

Also, with games that replicate using 2 hands in the VR world a pair of Moves is going to be much easier to wield than trying to clutch a DS4 in each hand. There's an interesting chart which shows all the various controller combinations available for local multiplayer games in VR. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CaYvuoXX...jpg&name=large |

Edit: so after writing the above I checked CEX Ireland and the Move controllers are only €4 and the navigation ones €3.50 so I got two of each. One step closer to been VR ready. Just a headset and games to go

So Sony VR comes with an add on box to do some of the additional processing required to get the images to the headset... Well, I wonder if this could be used in the future as additional processing for non VR games. Let the PS4 do the number crunching and the add on box take on some of the graphics work. Could we be looking at a two tier market for game? Those that require and those that don't require the add on box.
Any thoughts? |

Any thoughts? The external box doesn't seem to do any graphics processing. It appears to - Handle the 3D audio - De-warp the video for display on the TV for single player games - Enable splitting of the 2 video streams needed for the asynchronous multiplayer games. |

I still have my two move (and nav) controllers in a drawer somewhere, lets hope they still work!
Might be worth grabbing the PS cam now if I find it anywhere cheap. |
