I have no interest at all in VR but the price point has given it a good chance to succeed. Sony are definitely doing their best to get it out there.

I'd rather wait a bit longer than a release In April so they can release a fully working system with a few good titles available at launch! Should be a massive hit at Christmas!
I go away for a few days on October 20th. Guaranteed that's the release date. ![]() Quote:
Also just realised that seeing as I don't have the PS Camera or any Move controllers, it's likely to cost me a fair bit more. So I'll be waiting at least a year till I get my hands on it I reckon

Oh yeah, I would prefer a finished system and some games released for it but it was only a few weeks ago that Sony said that they were still on for a first half of 2026 launch. It's fine but I was just really hoping for sooner.
I go away for a few days on October 20th. Guaranteed that's the release date. ![]() CEX are selling the move controllers for a tenner. Not sure about the camera but you should be able to get one for thirty quid. ![]() ![]() It's still not something that's on my must have radar, but it's a good enough price point to get the early adopters interested. The rest of us will play the long game and see how it pans out. |

Those early PSVR demos, London Heist, Into The Deep and Street Luge are to be bundled together with 2 more experiences to form PlayStation VR Worlds. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69XFqRfzl_k

I like the price but my money is being saved for the NX if it releases this year.

I reckon this is going to sell out pretty quickly.
I'll do my usual trick of waiting 18 months for the new model to come out at half the price

Pleased I still have my Move controller, those things were in Bargain bins 12 months ago but it looks like they might get a new lease of life. In pleased there's a new Tumble game for this VR set, that game was so fun with the move on PS3.

70 quid more in the UK than in the US. It'seems a bit off topic but the taxation and cost of tech in this country is ridiculous. VAT, income tax, council tax, national insurance, TV licence, inheritance tax, capital gains tax, airport duty. This bastard country is not worth living in.
Anyway, I will be getting the psVR. I won't buy any Facebook related thing ever and the HTC thing is hideous. |

It's cheaper than I thought it would be, I though £400 at least, so that has piqued my interest. I won't be pre-ordering or buying it at launch but maybe in a year or so if it's any good. I actually got a camera with my launch bundle back in 2013, haven't used since then though. i haven't got a move controller but they seem pretty cheap pre-owned.

This is a 'good' price?
I only paid £300 for the console 18mths ago and my TV wasn't much more expensive. I'm not willing to pay £400+ to play the modern equivalent of this, http://www.ebay.co.uk/bhp/tomytronic-3d Really sceptical about how the control interface will work too, if previous experience of the Wii and Kinect are anything to go by this will seem 'cool' but will ultimately prove useless. I have more than enough disposable income to afford it but it's seriously overpriced for a gimmick, I'll wait and see. |

Looks like I got in in time then. Have you tried elsewhere? No doubt more will become available in the next few weeks.

I know it's early days yet but does anyone know what additional controllers are needed?
I have a camera and one move controller but should I also look at getting a navigation controller and additional move controller? |

A lot of tech has came and gone over the years that was just gimmicky , under-utilised and just faded away. But if any game shops near you get demo units in, or if a friend get PSVR, Occulus or Vive, just give them a try and see if it changes your mind on the possibilities of VR. Quote:
