Yes I agree, there's still a bit of wiggle room for newer adopters. But what's going to happen over the next few years. We now have PC games playing games at 4k at round 50-60fps on very high or ultra settings, for not a massive price (£1200-1500 or so) and that will get you a computer that will happily play games on those settings for at least the next 4 -5 years. Are console gamers going to be happy for this to continue.
With Pc's getting steam big picture mode, HDMI, better controller support, better optimisation for gaming, the lines between the ease of gaming on consoles and PC is getting thinner, and the games themselves getting better, except for poor PC ports. Unless you spend obscene money, if you're looking to play everything on max settings, bi-annual upgrades are still the norm. |

Well the PC I'm currently speccing with a 1080 card is coming in at around £1500
I did mention that the setting may have to drop to high and not always Ultra to get your 4-5 years. |

I hoping it does work out, VR does look interesting, but if I was to go down that path I'd probably go OR, as I prefer a more static forward facing experience as opposed to Vive's and I assume the PS4's 360 approach.

Without wishing to start a fan war, in all honesty Star Trek Bridge Crew looks really rather dull in comparison to the Battlefront VR experience they've got now.
Also add Batman Arkham VR (honestly expecting that to be not much more than a glorified tech demo but we'll see), Final Fantasy XV (a bizarre tacked-on gameplay experience anyway) and Resident Evil 7 (hands down the true system seller that this thing needs) to the list of games coming. |

I had never been too interested in VR but with full length games like Resident Evil 7 & Infinite Warfare going to be fully playable campaigns, I'm started to take notice. RE7 is out the day before my birthday so it would be a nice bundle to get as a present

As a big ST fan I agree that the game looks poor on the clip - however the concept is enough to get me excited. The thought of being part of an online bridge crew is amazing - even if all we are doing is charting gaseous anomalies

I'm still not sure how Sony VR works. Why haven't they designed it so you can just plug in to a HDMI cable and watch videos and especially 3d videos off any device with an HDMI output?
The price is cheaper and the specs seem to be better than an 3d headset so far. |
