This is how PlayStation VR games need to be promoted. Gives an approximation of how games will look.
360 video for Ocean Descent, part of PlayStation VR Worlds. Best viewed in your mobile YouTube app. If you have Google Cardboard or Gear VR - then even better. https://youtu.be/Ag3ef0dU0BE |

I can't help but think that VR Worlds should be a pack-in with the headset, doubt many people will pay for what is effectively a bunch of demos no matter how pretty they are.

They have done quite a bit to bulk the game out and add longevity. From PS Blog. The London Heist We know you will want to play it again and again, and show it off to your friends and family, so we added a load of features you might not yet be aware of to keep you coming back for more. But, we also added a mode for you to show to people who are less familiar with traditional gaming. It adds laser sights to the guns to help with aiming and reduces enemy damage. With this mode enabled, you can experience The London Heist as more of an interactive story and still get to the dramatic finale. We had so much fun with the gunplay that we created four shooting ranges for you to have a little target practice before you play the story mode. The shooting ranges have laser-sighted and unassisted versions, with leaderboards for each one. So you can compete with the whole PS VR community or invite your friends round, log in, and pass and play to see who is best Dangerball Dangerball’s Score Attack is an endurance VR game where players must hit the highest scoring tiles and maintain combos to push for the high score. Here at the studio, the competition between QA and dev team scores has been fierce during development, so we can’t wait to see what gamers can do. Dangerball also features Tournament and Quick Play modes where you can play against AI opponents with various special moves, such as power shots, swerve balls, and ball splitting. Luge Have leaderboards to bring out your competitive side. Test your nerve in a VR Luge time trials, again with leaderboards for each course, and you’ll be able to refine your own performance by comparing it with the ghosts of other online players that appear on-track. We also have a fiendishly difficult VR Luge Tour, where players must complete all four tracks consecutively within a difficult target time before they can post their time to the exclusive Champion’s leaderboard. Ocean Descent Ocean Descent is far from being a passive VR experience. There are three different versions of the dive, allowing for gentler experiences for VR newcomers and building up to the terrifying Shark Encounter for VR veterans. Scavengers Odyssey The story sees you taking control of a spider-like craft which can walk on the walls and ceilings of giant derelict Space Hulks and jump huge distances through floating wreckage. As the name suggests, Scavengers Odyssey has an intriguing backstory to discover as you quest through bug-infested wreckage. Your agile Spidercraft means you can explore and discover the scattered Blackbox recordings and unearth details of what happened to these giant space wrecks. It's pretty cheap anyway. Only £30 on PS Store, pre ordered mine from Amazon for £24. I just want it to send my Mum down in a shark cage. She's gonna freak our.

My cousin's Amazon preorder has changed from being expected 13th October 2016 to 21st March 2017. Has anyone else's changed or has there been a delay? He was preordered within minutes of it being available.

That only leaves one USB socket in the PS4 free for charging controllers / Moves. You could get a multi USB port. I picked up an official PS Move charging dock from Amazon for £6.44, but it does require its own mains power point. |

You need 2 power points (one for the PS4, one for the PSVR) and one of the PS4's USB sockets to use PSVR.

It all hangs on Sony now and think big push will possibility of PSVR on pc. Expensive headsets. Even more expensive host hardware. No real marketing. Negligible in-store presence. Lack of crowd pleasing software. All problems that PlayStation VR doesn't have. |

A £400 add on for a £300 console (that won't run it to it's full potential, you'll probably need to spend another £400 on a new console for this) isn't expensive? It might not be expensive in comparison to other VR headsets but it's still expensive. I've also seen little to no promotion of PSVR and I'm someone with more than a passing interest in gaming, seems to me like Sony don't really have much confidence in their own product, you have to actively seek out PSVR news. I'll be reserving judgment until we get a broad range of user reviews. |

I'll be reserving judgment until we get a broad range of user reviews. Meanwhile, there are only ~13 million gaming PCs on the planet capable of running VR without users paying for further upgrades. Sony have said that marketing for PlayStation VR will be very different to previous launches, and will focus on getting players hands-on with the device. To that end, PlayStation VR demo stations are widely available to demo in stores across the USA, shopping malls in Australia, Sony Centres in the Middle East and there are now pop up stands appearing across Europe. All official PlayStation PR is now heavily focused on VR, with PS ThVRsdays and their VR game of the week feature. And once supply constraints are eased, they will be easy to buy. Sony's relationship with retailers means the device will be available from mainstream suppliers such as Argos, Tesco, Very, Littlewoods, Smyths, Zavvi etc. This is all stuff that the PC headsets aren't doing. They are for enthusiasts right now, with many barriers preventing mainstream adoption. Sony is doing lots of work to bring those barriers down. PSVR is by no means guaranteed success, but it sure as hell has the best chance right now. |

I would say at the moment PSVR is the last hope VR has for a while. It's completely stagnated on the PC with both Vive and OC only getting something like 1.2% take up in August, so basically no one bought one. It may have to do with lack of content, or just people aren't that interested.
Lets see if PSVR can kick start it again. |

Do we know much about how better PSVR will be on the PS4 PRO ?
I watched the presentation last night but they didn't really say that much on it. Anyone know anything ? |

The best use would be improved anti-aliasing and pushing resolutions beyond 1920X1080 to enable super-sampling. That will really be a boon to image quality. Farpoint running on Pro has twice the resolution of the PS4 version, and it was already a nice liking game. |

It's brand new tech. Nobody's pretending it's a bargain. But a PlayStation VR headset is significantly cheaper than either PC option and works with ANY of the 40 - 50 million PS4s already in existence, give or take a £40 PS camera.
Quote:
To be expected. VR on PC suffers from.... The PSVR is quite clearly a very expensive piece of hardware, and one that will be out of the price range for many of those 40-50 million PS4 owners. Even for those who can afford it, only the most hardcore of gamers are likely to justify making such a purchase. For a brand new adopter, without a PS4, you're looking at an outlay of around £700. That's a week's holiday in Spain.Expensive headsets. Even more expensive host hardware. [...] All problems that PlayStation VR doesn't have. Don't get me wrong, I get that it is competitively priced and accessible compared to its PC counterparts - that still doesn't make it a viable economic option. An Audi R8 is cheaper than a Bugatti Veyron but you're not likely to see too many either way. |

The PS4 Pro is over twice as fast as the PS4 (1.87 TFLOPS vs 4.20 TFLOPS) so games that can do 60 FPS on the standard PS4 should be able to do 120 FPS with some improved visuals.
Quote:
Depending on the title, the Playstation 4 Pro can enhance the frame-rate from 60 to 90 frames per second or from 90 to 120 frames per second
