I am always very wary of 'reviews' as i have played games that are supposedly the greatest thing ever but hated every minute - i prefer to make my own mind up based upon what i see as a whole package - i would rather have a game with a few technical faults that i enjoy playing than a perfect game that just doesn't grab me. I am sure some people will have problems with vr but until i try it myself then i will never know - the cost may seem prohibitive for taking such a risk but ultimately £400 isn't really that much in the great scheme of things and certainly cheaper than Hive etc.
Besides, even if i hate it i have 3 kids so surely at least one of them will be ok! How much money do you make in a month? |

It would be, but it's not a huge stretch to believe that a game called Driveclub VR can make people feel sick!
I know you've posted a lot on this thread about frames-per-second and refresh rate and how nobody can make a game for the PSVR that doesn't meet certain yadda yadda yadda. Doesn't mean anything. Means absolutely nothing, in fact. You are still a stationary person whose brain is being told you are in a car travelling at over a hundred miles per hour around a windy race-track. Given the current level of technology, for anyone experiencing sickness it has nothing to do with refresh rates or frame rates, and it never did. It's the same principle as why some people get sick if they read/use their mobiles/tablets as a passenger in a moving car, particularly in the back seat. The signals your brain is getting are totally at odds to what your body is experiencing. Some people will always get motion sick playing VR, the same way as some people will always get car-sick if they read in a moving vehicle. This isn't meant as a sleight on the technology btw - I think it's very cool and while I won't be an early adopter, I am keeping a close eye on its development. I use VR apps myself with the likes of Google Cardboard and have not experienced any motion sickness yet. It's more just saying that, at some point, you just need to accept that virtual reality and motion sickness go hand-in-hand. The best refresh rates in the world won't change that. I already said in an earlier post that Windlands on PSVR made ME feel uncomfortable. Different games will affect different people in different ways. Was that not clear from the first part of my post? The second part of my post was info I was going to post here anyway to help fellow PSVR users get the best from their new device. See the word "Anyway"? That's me changing subject right there. Linking the 2 subjects was an afterthought TBH. Please stop looking for an agenda where there isn't one. Trust me, If DCVR makes me puke tonight I'll be saying so. Quote:

It's not what you earn, its how you manage what you earn and your circumstances.

The VR section to the PS store is still looking rather sparse. I would have thought all of the release date VR games would have been up there by now.

How much money do you make in a month? I wasn't trying to be flippant when i said £400 isn't a big amount, it is just worth it for me as i have saved upon for it, and if it doesn't work out then the kids may use it and at least i won't be in debt to buy it. |

I dont think the VR is going to succeed if it continues to go down the video gaming route though. i can see experiences being the new thing. Imagine it being used in care homes for people who cant go out or in schools to go on outings to a viking battleground. |

Be very interesting to read tomorrows user insights and I'm sure outbreaks of bilious behaviour - hopefully not too much of the latter though. Currently a very intrigued observer whose main reason for abstain is a lack of personally appropriate titles. An Alien Isolation port - Visage - Outlast 2 - decent RPG and a traditional Golf VR experience (yeah same old) would rapidly alter my stance however. Enjoy all. Hope you get your VR legs sharp.

I'm shocked at the awful VR section on the store. It's abysmal.
If you go to the main game pages and use the PlayStation VR filter there's 14 games on offer. Weirdly though, games like Rez, 100ft Robot Golf and Resident Evil don't show up even though they feature on the store. It wouldn't do any harm to throw the likes of Tomb Raider, Call Of Duty, Battlefront etc in there either. By my reckoning there's about 20 new games, plus upgraded titles, plus apps still missing. Hopefully they'll all turn up sometime tomorrow. Although, I've already got 7 games lined up to play, plus World War Toons and all those demos. I really don't need encouraging to bit any more. Anyway, off into town now to prepay and get my place in the line. Hopefully should be back home with my new baby just after midnight.

![]() They only work at 720p per eye, so the resolution goes down more than on a mono screen, so it would be even better playing Battlefront on a PS4 at 1080p per eye. |

Grr. They have been evil to me. Took the cash at 8am and it's been being prepared ever since. I hate amazon. They are increasingly bad at delivering on release day. My sister's catalogue is better!

My Amazon order hasn't moved since being handed over the the courier at 1pm yesterday. Hopefully things wake up and move along overnight or Amazon will have some very serious questions to be answering!!
Is anyone else having the same lack of movement with Amazon logistics? |
