Had a quick go once I'd set it up. Very weird! I wouldn't say it made me feel sick, but it does give you a strange feeling like when you're in the car wash and you feel like you are moving.
I can see this being a much used thing in our house. I'm very pleased. As Yuffie says loads of cables! |

All the demos on the disc, plus a load more are available on the store. The demos are in one large pack of around 40gb and includes many on the US disc we don't get on the UK disc inside the box. Not tried it out yet as still working.

OK, initial impressions.
It's a good looking headset and it's relatively comfortable. After an hour I was getting a bit sweaty where the headband was but not too bad. It can be a bit figgety to get the headset into the perfect position where everything is in perfect focus and no light in getting in from underneath but once you have it in place, it's done until you have to get up. I only have the US demo disk download, the Playroom and Driveclub. Driveclub looks very bad graphically, but handles the same as the regular game as I was using a DS4. I did get a slight uncomfortable feeling in my tummy but nothing serious. The demos are funny. You can't actually play them all, like SuperHyperCube. Is there no actual demo yet or are they blocked for our region, I dunno. But I did try Rigs, Eve Valkyrie and Headmaster. Actually they all look very good graphically. I only had one game of each - Rigs and Eve are very short demos so I can't say I got the full experience or that I knew what I was doing but I thought Rigs was good fun. Eve really was too short to get any idea what the game is like. I loved Headmaster. Great fun, great humour. Might pick this up. But my favourite game was The Playroom. It's so cute and we'll made. I'm not really impressed with all the cables. Do I unplug everything after I've finished a gaming session or just leave the mess there ? I'll see, I've no kids so I don't have that to worry about them mucking about, getting tangled or things getting broken but it's just a big mess on my entertainment station. There no apps to be found yet, so no 360 videos or anything yet so can't comment on any of that yet. So for me, this is going to be perfect for smaller games, fun games, rather than bigger games. I love it. Can't wait for several to get really used to it and see what they can do. |

Can you play PS normally on your TV if the headset is connected but not being used? |

Buy the PS4 Pro. Rear USB, plug it in there & hide all the cables down the back. Problem solved! Or, save yourself £340 and buy a USD extender & hide it all in the back.
Can you play PS normally on your TV if the headset is connected but not being used? Yeah you can play your PS4 normally with the headset connected. Just close down your VR games as sometimes they can confuse the PS4 into thinking youre still playing a VR game and reduce the outputted resolution to the TV. I believe HDR won't work if the headset is still connected but we don't have to worry about that just yet. |

First impressions:
1 - I'm going to have to do some work to get those cables sorted 2 - Only had a go so far on Invasion and Allumette. 3 - The screen door effect is pretty pronounced. Objects in the distance are so ill defined. I guess I'm used to 1080p. I think the next step must be an unpdated version with full 1080p to each eye. I guess were looking at PS5 or beyond for that 4 - I wouldn't say its made me nauseous but my head does feel a little weird. When I get time I'll run through the advance set up to see if that helps 5 - Now this may just be my set up but it's pretty annoying. My PS4 plugs into my Sony amp and my sony amp into my sony TV. They should all talk to each other right? But when I turn off the PSVR expecting pass through to work the screen is really low res and only fills 4/5s of the screen. I have to manually open options and reset the screen to 1080p. Over the weekend I'm going to look at routing options. Maybe route the PS4 direct to the amp and then route one HDMI out to the TV and the other to the TV via the PSVR. God knows if that will work though 6 - Allumette, wow. Being able to move your head to look at the scene from different angles is great. Not quite roomscale but pretty good none the less. 7 - headset is pretty comfortable and works well with glasses although there is quite a lot of light bleed Conclusion A reasonably well executed bit of tech thats badly let down by the poor resolution. A few other niggles that I'm sure I will learn to live. 3/5 ETA: Still not tested 3d pass through. That may well effect how I decide to route the kit. |

I feel a bit sorry for any of you guys who've pre-ordered and not received it yet. It seems to be available for immediate collection at every Argos near me. The sold out everywhere hype seems to have been just that.
I'm glad the initial impressions seem good but still going to wait a bit as I absolutely loved my Wii during the honeymoon period. |

DPD due to drop it off at my local Halfords in an hour. Then just have to get though another five hours at work before I can go home and play!
Hope everyone enjoys their first PSVR experiences. |

I'm glad the initial impressions seem good but still going to wait a bit as I absolutely loved my Wii during the honeymoon period. First impressions. Cables are plentiful, I'm going to have to do some rearranging.. Headset comfy enough. Tried the littlestar vr viewer, not a lot on there but it works well. Driveclub is quite blurry for me but I did feel like I was tooling about the St. Leonards area of Edinburgh in a Ferarri (albeit a Ferarri with a grubby windscreen). VR world descent demo is lovely and is the best looking one. RotTR VR section. Oddly it was this one that has caused a bit of motion sickness, moving sideways did it. I wonder if travel sickness tablets will help? It's also blurry but works well. Oddest thing is having taken the headset off my 48" telly looks tiny! |

No matter what i do i cannot get a clear image, i am still in the setting up phase and it tells me to move the headset around until the writing is clear and crisp but i just can't get it to happen, plus the lenses keep fogging up!
Any tips? |

I've talked about the hardware lots before, so I'll gloss over most of that. Just reiterate that it's light, comfortable and although the mass of cables look daunting it's actually pretty simple to set up and get running.
I'm still waiting for my retail discs to arrive (thanks for that Amazon) but luckily there's been loads of stuff available for download that's kept me busy. I'll echo what others have said about DRIVECLUB VR. The visuals have been stripped back considerably and the IQ is very soft. But, it still looks, feels and plays like DRIVECLUB and close up the cars still look really nice. Getting up close to opponents during a race is really exhilarating. I've played both the demo and the full game and can't report any nausea. Playroom VR is actually really nice looking. Only played the single player parts so far. The bedroom part has an amazing solidity and it feels like you could almost touch the models. Likewise with the robot rescue section. It's like playing a version of Super Mario 3D World you feel like you could climb into. It was a nice surprise I wasn't expecting. The slide at the end of the level did make my stomach churn though. I'll be playing the rest with my kids later. Rez I didn't enjoy. Too fast and too much going on. I didn't feel ill but it was like a sensory overload. I think I made a mistake by using the head tracking to aim. I'll try it again later with the stick control. Thumper is great. It's a simple rhythm action game but with strange, brutal, other-worldly imagery. A real "one more go" type game. This I like a lot. Job Simulator feels like fun. There's a real joy in interacting with the world and finding new things to do. Im not convinced about longevity, but it's definitely worth consideration. RIGS demo is very slick and smooth. I though it could be uncomfortable to play but I had no issues at all. This is one of the full games I'm waiting on, so I'll report back with more when I've tried that. Kitchen has to be tried. I had heard the graphics were really rough, but I was surprised how effective the environment was. That's all I'll say. Give it a go. (If you dare) Overall, I'm really pleased with my new toy. Yes, there are compromises as I always knew there would be, but this is effective, viable, consumer level VR in 2016 and I think that should be applauded. I've got more to talk about but I'm itching to get on and play some more. Laters. X |

Any tips? You need to have it properly positioned vertically. Move the front headband up and down on your forehead to find the sweet spot. If you wear glasses in real life you'll need them here. |

Any tips? I found that I got a much clearer image by having the headband sit higher on the back of my head rather than as far down as it tells you to put it. |

Make sure you slide the visor as close to your face as possible, by holding the button on the bottom right side.

thanks for the tips, i managed to get it a bit better with my glasses on but still not great...
To be honest i am pretty unimpressed, i just don't think the resolution is enough for what it is trying to do, everything looks very soft. DriveClub - sure it is still DC but as said above the graphics are very poor compared to the original. The actual racing is good but everything is so low res that it is spoilt for me, plus i am suffering horrendous motion-sickness when playing it. Eve Valkyrie - havent really given it much of a go but looks much better than DriveClub, I have found the controls a little poor though for aiming missiles so have given up on that for the time-being. On the demo disc i had a go at Battlezone - poor controls i thought, and Kitchen, which i thought was excellent and really immersive and frightening, exactly what i was looking for from VR. Watching a movie, which was my main reason for getting vr as i wanted it to be like being in a cinema, was the biggest let-down - the resolution is poor and again as i cannot get a crystal clear image then it is so far from being hi-def that i won't watch any more movies. So, for me, a very disappointing day, will persevere but at the moment it is looking like if the kids don't like it then it will be a trade-in despite the money i have spent on games |

also, very disappointed at having to sit so close to the camera, i basically have had to put a chair about 5 feet away from it as sitting on my sofa about 8 feet away kept saying that the headset was out of range

So, for me, a very disappointing day, will persevere but at the moment it is looking like if the kids don't like it then it will be a trade-in despite the money i have spent on games 1 - its closer to your eyes so you can see the pixels 2 - its half the resolution of 1080p. The same amount of pixels per eye as passive 3d 3 - However the image is far worse than passive 3d so I think there is something else at play here. When a game is rendered a single pixel rendered on the console maps to a single pixel on screen. The headset though moves and tilts in two dimensions (ignore the 3rd dimension for now as it over complicates things). So that one pixel as generated by the console can actually be spread over 4 pixels depending upon the aspect of the headset. The moving viewpoint basically multiplies the aliasing effect seen on other games. That and the lower resolution really makes these stand out. Also with your head moving, all of the pixels flicker as the console tries to map this one pixel on to 4 other pixels. I realise this is an over simplification but I think it gives an idea of whats going on. As I said previously, I really think VR needs 1080p minimum per eye but the more I think about it 4k per eye maybe needed to fully replicate a 1080p resolution with a moving view point. I don't know though. I'm certainly no expert on VR |

So I haven't had long with this as of yet but wow it's amazing. The actual headset is really quite light and better than i expected. I have struggled to get a clear image while wearing glasses though, I have used it without them though and it works great. Playroom was really fun, just so good looking all around. My problem with RIGS though was that I felt sick quite quickly and didn't even get into the game, just doing the training. I am hoping that it was because I had no glasses on. I shall try tomorrow when I have more time.

anyone else finding their position in relation to the camera 'drifts' to one side?
Playing both DC and Eve i start off and my vision shows me facing directly forward in the game, i am actually directly in front of the ps camera. After a couple of games my virtual position looks like i have turned myself towards the right - for instance my console etc in Eve is at a diagonal to my normal vision so i have to turn my head to the left to become 'central' - hope this makes sense! |

Will the PS4 Pro make any significant differences to games like Driveclub VR in terms of graphics & resolution in other games or is the power just not there?

Is Kitchen a demo? Is it available for the UK?
