Then lenses mean the focal distance of the screen is about 8fy, so shouldn't be any different to watching a TV at that sort of distance.

That being said, I had a disturbed nights sleep last night (man flu) but I swear I was dreaming in VR. Some sort of VR psychosis knowing my luck.

I had another shot of VR at my cousin's last night when went round to watch the Leicester game & found it less nauseating & more in focus than when I played it on Friday.

Do you think that some games which people suffer from sickness more than other games is due to the developers becoming hardened to the experience and being less susceptible to motion sickness, blurring etc so they don't notice it in their titles like people playing for the first time do?

I'll try it another couple of times to see if I adapt to it more before deciding if I'll get one in January with RE7.

Looking forward to seeing what PSX has in store with new titles & apps/experiences

Most people adapt as their brains become used to the types of locomotion. However you may be hardened but then have to adapt to a different game using something slightly different. Once you get used to VR 90% of titles with locomotion are fine and the rest you have to play in short doses. Never try to push through nausea early on. If you start feeling funny stop playing. It took me 3 days to get used to VR and then a few weeks later i started playing more intense games. Playstation are just jumping in feet first with locomotion but some games shouldnt be played as a new comer to VR. Rotation is usually what causes the nausea.

I found I got motion sickness more when there was horizontal movement of things like building and rooms.

I was better with more open worlds such a the landscape in Skyrim or the roads of Grand Theft Auto.

Presumably you are talking about playing such games on a screen in VR where there is no locomotion (Unless you have PCVR and are using vorpX?) . You shouldnt be getting any nausea with such experiences anyway. Nausea is the disconnect between you seeing yourself moving (and it be believable) and your brain\senses telling you that you are not moving. Turning artificially is the worst for setting this off but can be gotten used to. Seeing the character move on a screen shouldnt cause nausea.

Scavengers Odyssey has been the most nauseating game I've played up to now. Slight nausea with Until Dawn. The rest I've been perfectly ok with. I'm hesitant to try Drive Club though because I just know it'll make me feel sick.

I was playing COD Black OPs in 3d using 3d goggles (without head tracking).

I could only get as far as driving the car before the head ache and stomach pain got too much.

It was Driveclub & Eve that made me feel ill when I first tried it. Last night I tried Driveclub again and was fine. The other game I tried last night was Tomb Raider. I tried it on comfort mode and felt slightly dizzy but overall, the experience was better than my first shot

I really need to try this thing. So many mixed opinions.

I get the feeling I'll really like it but it's a lot of money to be wrong about.

I keep telling myself I'm waiting until next Spring but there's a good chance I'll have ordered it before Christmas...

CEX have reduced the trade in cash price to £390 for the PSVR (costs £475 to buy)

I'll buy the next gen of VR, particularly if it's wireless, if it gets that far, im not prepared to gamble 400 on this. I really hope it takes off to encourage investment in improving the technology. Its crappy leaving it to everyone else to make a success of this but thats where I stand.

Sold my new Ps VR to cex for £390 today. Playstation have offered to replace my damaged wire. Yay. Got job simulator. So fun! I'm waiting for the kids to go to bed so I can play properly.

Im still having lots of problems with the screen 'drifting' to the left, i usually have to adjust it using the Options button every minute or so, really spoiling it for me...

Phew! That's good of Sony as they didn't have to do that.

Definitely sounds like you should get it replaced.

No one else is reporting that effect.

Although I would check if it is the camera or headset causing the problem.

There are loads with the same issue, a huge thread on Reddit about it...

Ah ok, thats not the same as VR, pretty irrelevent (no offense). Low framerate, lack of head tracking probably to blame

Apparently, you need to be lined up directly in front of the lense on the left of the camera upon set up. If you line yourself up with the centre of the camera, it drifts to the left. Someone on another forum I use had this issue & then noticed it told them to do this in the instructions when they looked at them properly and it fixed it. Another couple of people have said this fixed the drifting for them too.

I don't think VR is anywhere near wireless yet, unfortunately. I would be much more tempted to invest now if Sony hadn't muddied the waters with the PS Pro. Makes it very difficult to tell when we will expect a PS5, or even if we should expect one at all. Will the PSVR be compatible with the next generation of virtual reality games or will we need to buy a new camera, new move controllers and a new headset again?

A lot of unanswered questions there (unless anyone here can shed any light on them) - I'm not spending £500 on something that will be dead and unsupported tech by a probable next-gen release in two years.

Here's a Reddit post showing the same https://www.reddit.com/r/PSVR/commen...E8&sh=5114bbfc It makes sense if you think about why it's pulling to the left as that's where it's meant to be centred

That's brilliant, FOC?

And did you make £40 on the "new" VR set then, or had you paid more than the £350?

Bought PSVR yesterday and tried it out last night.

Played the VR section of Rise of the Tomb Raider first. As my first ever experience of VR I found it quite impressive, if fuzzy. There are 2 methods of movement, Free and Comfort. In Free you glide around the place smoothly and slowly and I found this made me feel uneasy after just a few seconds, switched to comfort where you can either teleport or move in small steps and had no issue with the movement.

On my first play session I found that the virtual controller was appearing to my right rather than directly in front of me. This didnt happen the 2nd time I played.

At one point I found myself moving back from a bug running around Lara's basement floor and peering over the library balcony was particularly effective.

I didn't have the camera on top of my TV but placed it on the edge of the surface on which the TV stands.

There are a couple of free VR animated shorts on the store that I tried and was impressed by Allumette. I'd like to see more of that sort of thing , forget the controls and just enjoy being transported to some other place.

If it was a sharper image I would be more impressed but you do get used to it.

Id give the whole thing an 8/10.

I made £40 but in all honesty I didn't mean to. I didn't realise the 4 wire was just an extension. Gave it bback to cex though as I had to buy 2 move controllers as game canceled my order.

2 days in and having zero issues apart from nausea with Driveclub and Eve (a fan helps apparently). Also, i almost soiled myself playing Kitchen. The play room is excellent and great fun. Still a 10/10 for me.

It's wonderful.
