People that have tried it were absolutely wowed by it. One journo described it as "the best thing ever created by a human"

Expectations are high.

With the Ultimate Edition hitting a week later EA will be hoping to rack up a few more Battlefront sales.

Survey last month and almost 7/10 respondents said these VR bolt-ons would encourage them to buy a AAA game.

PSVR now works on PC

It's not perfect yet but this is something that can only improve with time, provided Sony don't start getting arsey about it.

I will be watching developments closely

I've been playing a few new VR games over the last few days.

Proton Pulse is, at its core, a 3D VR block-breaking game. Here you alternate between head-tracking and Move control on the fly to deflect balls and clear the blocks, which adds a dynamic element, keeping the pace varied ang enabling tactics. If you enjoyed the Danger Ball segment on PlayStation VR Worlds you'll be at home here as it takes the concept to the next level.

Holoball places you in a giant, futuristic, neon squash court as you play for your life against your aggressive overlord. You'll need plenty of space to play, but the sensation of being in this digital realm is great and the reaction from your Move controlled racquet(s) feels fantastic. Really enjoying this one.

Bound in VR looks phenomenal are really brings what is already a great game to life. Going back to it in 2D makes if feel flat and lifeless in comparison. The VR camera is a bit fiddly (a consequence of making it as comfortable in VR as possible) but a fix fit that is on the way. Highly recommended.

How We Soar places you on top of a giant paper craft eagle, flying through a disjointed world with the objective of reassembling the story contained within the tattered pages. Sounds very artsy, but reminds me very much of the legendary Flower. Except on an eagle. In VR. It may not have the action of Eagle Flight, but as a big fan of Flower that's a great combination thst I'm really enjoying chilling with.

So I Robinson finally arrived and I've played the first hour or so of it and it's pretty much what I expected. Graphically stunning but as shallow as a puddle but I don't care as its so immersive. Everything from stumbling across a cave of fireflies to be being chased by Raptors is so well realised.

One thing I would say is that the control system isn't fantastic, The 'Pie Chart' movement feels unnatural and I know it was to make it feel easier but for me it does the opposite, you move so slowly anyway that I think it was fine with the more usual free controls.

It's effectively 'solve puzzle,' explore, solve puzzle ad naseum and its not particularly difficult or challenging so I would probably recommend a price drop but as something to show to you friends to show off what it can do, It's probably essential imo.

I think the figures might be forecasts to end of 2016. Still, it's a very strong start. In fact, I'd say figures would be even higher but demand is outstripping supply in many territories. Sony seem to be struggling to produce enough units.

It's seems to tie in with what little information Sony have given out. In their latest financial results they said sales were in the "many hundreds of thousands" and that they were increasing production late 2016 into early 2017

As a comparison, the same firm (SuperData) put Oculus Rift at 353,000 and HTC Vive at 420,000

Great news. Hopefully that makes Sony push for some more substantial games and experiences

I see the Resi: beginning hour demo has been updated to work in VR. I honestly don't know if I'll be able to play it, Kitchen was pretty scary.

I literally just downloaded a minute ago. So not tried it yet but will later tonight.

Also, Ark: Survival Evolved is on the store but I don't think it has VR functionality. I was full sure this was supposed to be a VR game.

VR support is supposedly still coming at a later date. Details are scarce, so I would be surprised if it never happens.

3 mins left on my Battlefront download!!

Had a play with it for an hour. It's totally amazing !!! When you sit in the cockpit you can look right down deep into it and all the buttons and lights function, you can deploy the x foils, the targeting computer, make various beeps. The actual game is awesome !!!! Very immersive, flying through asteroid belts, dogfighting tie fighters and taking on a star destroyer.

LOL. It's very good. Only 15-20 mins long, but the cockpit, the environments, the sounds... are all fantastic. Gameplay is a relatively simple affair with little in the way of surprises, but the production values elevate this to something that MUST be experienced by any Star Wars fan. And the fact that it comes free with an existing game makes it all the sweeter.

There's huge potential for this to be turned into a fully fledged game. God, I hope EA feel the same.

Resident Evil 7 in VR is something very special indeed. It's particularly striking to see how little difference there is between the quality of the graphics in VR and non-VR modes. You lose a little resolution through the headset, but the geometry, textures, lighting, shaders and frame rate are every bit as good as far as I can tell. Add on top the level of immersion, the head tracking, the 3D audio etc and the VR version proves itself to be the definitive way to experience the game IMHO.

Thankfully I've had no issues with nausea playing this.

The Star Wars mission is superb! Oh for a full game.....
Reactions to this seem to have been overwhelmingly positive. I've heard people say it beats Star Tours at Disneyland as an experience. Let's hope someone's listening and develops the idea further.
