I'm willing to throw €300 at it. |

The price will make or break it.
I'm willing to throw €300 at it. £250 - £300 will be think about it, and then get one anyway. £300 - £400 and I'll try to convince myself I don't want one, and then change my mind at the last minute and get one anyway. Over £400 it will need killer, unmissable, day one software for me to jump in. Over £500 and I just won't bother, because it will be DOA and gathering dust in no time after being dropped by Sony. Thankfully, I've already got the PS Camera and a PS Move controller, so hopefully start-up costs shouldn't be to taxing. |

This is purely speculation, but the closest indicator at the moment is Occulus Rift DK2, which weighs in at $350. Morpheus should be able to launch at less than that, say $299, which should put it in the £250 - £275 range here. There are variables, such as bundles with the PS Camera etc, but that's my best guess. Sony have said they want it to bs as affordable as possible so that's an encouraging sign. |

Yeah, you'll need a PS4, but what price Morpheus itself will come in at is unknown at this stage.

Kinect was sold for $149.99 at launch. Obviously it was not as advanced a piece of hardware as VR, but I cannot see Morpheus being a viable commercial proposition if it ships at more than $200. |

The Occulus Rift DK2 is no indication at all. It's a dev kit, not a commercial product.

As I also said, it's a complete guess at the moment. I would hope to hear more from E3, but it may be a little early considering the launch is up to a year away. Time will tell. |

Is there no realistic chance of Morpheus being released for Christmas? That would surely be the shock of E3 if it were to happen!

I love this as an example of how VR can work as a social experience.
Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes is a bomb disposal game. The person wearing the headset is the only person that can see a bomb, while your friends play the part of experts reading instructions from a paper manual. Problem is, they don't know what bomb you have, so you have to work out what you've got and how to make it safe before the timer expires and the bomb explodes. There are lots of videos around of people having a blast with this. (Sorry) https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_WYs3Xxh3XE Scheduled to be a Morpheus launch title. |

was hoping for a price point at E3
I think we can expect a high price for it now, I don't think Sony would have jeapordised the whole conference on 1 down note, when they announced a lot of things to look forward to. I expect the price to be anounced at the next Gaming conference |

Engadget have run an E3 interview with Shuhei Yoshida which has revealed a few interesting titbits of information regarding Morpheus.
Firstly they consider the product and software development to be well on schedule. Yoshida has seeming confirmed that the existing Move controllers will work fine with Morpheus, there won't be a need to buy new controllers if you already have them. A firmware update will introduce a VR version of the operating system / UI. It will be possible for the headset to display a different picture to the TV screen - ideal for social gaming. They already have a 5 player game being demo'd with 4 players on the TV screen vs 1 on Morpheus. The online gaming experience will work just as it does now. It will have to be wired to the PS4 - 1080p/120 over wireless simply isn't possible. There will be applications for Morpheus outside gaming - including from Sony Pictures. VR movies I guess? Full interview. - http://www.engadget.com/2015/06/17/a...huhei-yoshida/ |

I know a lot of these "games" are more like tech demos and I like that they're branching out of FPS and driving games but that looks so boring. |

File under RUMOUR for now -
The Belgian Sony website has apparently leaked a web page showing Morpheus with the official name PlayStation RealEyes (a name which was first heard before E3) with a release date of 29/1/16 and price tag at €299 Could very well be an elaborate hoax. |

Realeyes .... LOL 😆😆😆😆
I much prefer Morpheus. I'm happy with the release date and that price is just fine. That's what I expected to pay. I think I'll use my Xmas present from the missus as a pre order of this 😉 (If all this is true of course) |

Realeyes sounds like a local opticions
Pricewise its in the ballpark of not too expensive but not cheap....unfortunately I'm not as rich as Yuffie or his missus. Considering it was actually Sony (Belgium) that listed this, I wouldnt be surprised if it was a hoax to get a reaction on the price point, so I will probably join in with the other moaners and hope Sony drop it further, at least we would know what the price point ceiling is. The only way it will go higher is if they announce Uncharted will be VR ready. I seriously doubt they will release it in Jan16 |
