and this: http://www.3g.co.uk/3GForum/showthread.php?t=16255 Yes to the second (the other week, at least). But I found that it worked if I switched to the 2.5G (O2) network then sent the MMS. Dan |

3g Network coverage there is a national poll
I happened to see this and after experiencing dropped signals on the 3 network, I spoke to the network and 3's response to my query of when will I be able to make a call 10 miles away from my home without the signals dropping out, and their answer of well sir we do cover 80% of the uk, I am not impressed with their customer service. This is the poll I saw, and I have voted already, I just hope that 3 takes notice. Quote:
The network coverage especially in the Uk is not always what it should be, in fact there were reported problems with 3G's new video calling phones and the coverage it was supposed to give, is far short of that experienced by users.
With so many new mobile phones being registered each year, and the global coverage of mobiles www.free-mobiles2u.co.uk, has undertaken and is currently running a poll for all networks, asking all mobile phone users to vote on their experience of the various networks not just 3g and the coverage they provide. At the end of which the results will be sent to each of the networks concerned, which will give the networks a direct input of what their customers view as to the coverage they provide. This is probably the first time it has been done in the uk, so everyone is invited to vote and give your views on your network coverage. Anything that can help mobile phone users will help. Free-mobiles2u.co.uk has also enabled people who wish to leave comments as well to do so, they can post comments as well, these will also be submitted (without names) to the networks. It is hoped that they will take notice and make announcements and improvements to their coverage for all concerned. I have voted already as the coverage in my area is patchy at best, but I hope things will improve. I am not sure about vodafones 3G services, has anyone tried it yet, will we get the same services as NEC You can make a vote at http://www.free-mobiles2u.co.uk/foru...ce19c5e9e734cd Free-mobiles2u.co.uk believes that network operators and manufacturers should be testing their coverage fully before placing mobiles onto the market for consumers, we are hoping for a sensible and co-operative response from them once the poll results are seen. |
