HDR-1000S Only shows 1 cable connected
The signal strength page always shows only one cable connected, even when 2 different stations are being recorded at the same time.
Is this normal? |

Is this normal? If you start a recording on 108, start a second on 126, goto 109 and press pause, does it work ? If so you must have two working tuners. |

Have done the above - all seems to be working ok.
Went to settings/signal info, and now both tuners show the same signal strength and quality, however only Tuner 1 has "ticks" and "good" beside the indicators. Also it states "Freesat box connected with 1 cable" Strange! Software version: UKSFAA 2.00.13 |

Just had a power cut, and when it came back on both tuners now showing.
Both cables were connected when I first got the box, so it was probably one of those "things" that seem to happen. |

Graham,
Thanks for your replies. Anyway still playing with the box - and now have another question (this time about non-FS mode), but that's for another thread - after I have watched the recordings of the six nations matches I recorded yesterday |

The unit, when connected by one cable, makes an internal link to enable two tuners. So the display of two signals might be misleading,
I suggest making a note of your schedule and doing a factory reset. Then watch carefully for the message confirming 2 cables. |

Post 2 - 3 confirms the OP has got two fully working and independent tuners. (Able to record two channels on different transponders and live pause a third sharing same transponder as one of the recording channels). Very weird bug.

Sorry for delay in responding.
After seeing the post about a reset, I reset the box, and the only difference between after the power cut and after the reset is that the signal strength/quality levels appear to have dropped slightly. |

During the reset did how many cables did the on screen message report?
Two - same as appeared on the signal screen after the power cut. Just to reiterate - new box. When first installed I connected both cables. Must admit I didn't notice how many cables it said were connected when I first set it up. However checking the signal screen only showed a single cable connected, even though it was obviously receiving signals on both cables when I followed Graham's advice. We then had a power cut, and after an hour or so, when the power came back on I checked the signal screen, and it was then showing 2 cables connected. After seeing your post I did a reset, and it showed 2 cables during the setup procedure, and still shows 2 cables connected on the signal screen, |
