Has anyone a fool proof pizza base recipe?
There's so many on the net I don't know which to chose?

What kind of base do you want though?

Big difference between the best one for a deep crust compared to a thin n crispy IMO

I doubt you'll find a truly foolproof recipe as it depends on how you like it.

How are you cooking it? How hot is your oven? Do you have a pizza stone or other device to crisp it up? Do you have a bread maker or mixer or are you doing it all by hand?

Saying that the Jamie Oliver recipe seems popular.

It depends on the oven I guess.

I can never get my electric oven to a sufficiently high temperature for pizza crust.
The rayburn manages it though - I just have open the flues and get a real roar going, till the top oven is at about 280 degrees, then cook it on the very top set of runners.

I've used Jamie and a similar one off t'internet.

The key thing is to add the semolina, not just use 100% strong flour. It really makes a difference to the ease of rolling, and the texture once cooked

My leccy oven goes upto 250 but also is a combi grill so having that on cooks the top at the same time. I use a cast iron crepe pan to crisp the base.

The alternative is to use the BBQ which goes to 350 with the lid down

Yeah, I agree, it helps crisp the base.

Thank you!
I find Jamie Oliver most irritating but will give his recipe a go

My oven goes to 220 plus fan, and I will try leaving the combi grill on as well.
