Coronation Street: A Moving Story

Filmed over two years, this documentary follows the Manchester soap's transfer from its 53-year-old base at Granada Studios to its new home in Trafford Park.

Featuring behind-the-scenes access as stars of the show pack up their dressing rooms and film their final scenes at the old site.

The programme also includes previously unseen footage of Coronation Street being shot in the 1960s, and tells the story of the evolution of filming the long-running series.

So I'm guessing that the first scenes at Salford Quays will be either that week or the next week

This is EXACTLY why I'm going to be sat like a geek in front of the telly that night.

Not only have I watched Corrie from near the beginning, I've also been fortunate enough to work on Corrie for many years, so the programme should bring back many memories, of the wonderful Cast & Crew who have worked on the programme with myself.

There is a special programme devoted to the old and new Coronation Street sets on ITV at 9pm on Thursday 6 March 2014.

It will give viewers a chance to say goodbye to the old set and take a look at the new set.

For those who used to attend the parties based on the outside set, this will be a real trip down memory lane

Same here (although not a viewer I will find it sad the day a national institution like Corrie goes away)

These forums seem littered with people who make deliberately misleading titles.

Much as I would like to, I cannot, as you can appreciate ...

I like working on Corrie, and wish to remain doing so.

(But only infrequently these days)

It really is a privilege to do so.

So, no secrets I'm afraid. Ever.

(N.D.A.)

However, tomorrow nights programme is a good one.

Fair enough Stigid, but you can't blame a girl for trying.

How amazing to be involved in the making of Corrie.

Really looking forward to this prog.

Going out tonight and got already got double recordings happening at 9pm and 10pm. Is it repeated any time soon on ITV2 or will it have to be the ITV player?
