Has anyone used this?

I spotted it on Ocado and wondered what it tastes like, and the different ways people use it, and most importantly - will it give my home cooked fries that yummy coating some takeaway fries have?

Any other suggestions for how to achieve that coating if you've not used this product?

my nephew bought some chicken salt for me over from in Oz. Apparently you get it in all the chip shops.

Sea salt, rice flour, spices, onion and garlic powder, natural flavouring, yeast extract (well it is Australian).

Tastes pretty nice, better then regular salt on chips and other fried food.

Hmm. Interesting - thanks guys.

I already 'make my own' roast spud coatings, but I'm interested in the fries coating in particular, something I'm not sure how to approach... I always thought it rather paprika based but no idea what else.

I might give it a whirl and report back!

I remember chicken salt being very popular and easy to get in many food outlets in Oz when I was there back in 1998.
