For what it's worth, my TV server spotted thousands of discontinuities (i.e. minor dropouts in the stream) during last night's football on ITV HD, even though I had a very strong signal. Never had that before, so maybe they're having problems with the new transponder setup.

ITV HD and football don't go well together do they?

Does anyone have a postcode for a working ITV HD region as my Panasonic needs that to retune with?

Thanks, but that didn't work. Must need the whole code. So far, I've tried Scottish Borders and Derby but both those didn't work. No ITV HD.

Should work with just the first half. Try Manchester Town Hall M60 2LA.

Are you certain you have access to the Freesat home transponder (Eutelsat 28A 11427 H), if not any postcode will fail ?

That didn't work either! What I've got is a Panasonic Freesat Blu Ray recorder. I'm in the STV region, so I've always had it set to the Scottish Borders, so I get BBC Scotland but also ITV HD, since they started changing things ITV HD won't tune in.

Will it accept any postcodes at all (including your own) ? I seem to remember when the BBC HD changed to a transponder with a different Symbol Rate, Panny TV owners had to do a full reset to get BBC HD back.

Yeah, I tried a factory reset last night, and that gave no joy. However, I've just used staticman's postcode generator above and tried an Irish one to see it I could get UTV HD and that worked. So whatever has been done it's ITV specific.

Interesting as UTV HD is the only HD channel 3 channel that is still on a DVB-S1 transponder all the others have moved to DVB-S2 transponders!
It sounds like grahamlthompson is right as DVB-S2 transponders have different symbol rates to DVB-S1 transponders normally!

So does that mean my Freesat recorder is out of date coz it doesn't handle DVB-S2?

No. You've stated you can get HD channels with the recorder - so it can handle DVB-S2. In a quirk unique to Panasonic, such devices don't like it when the other parameters change.

So, is the ITV HD problem fixable?

Should be, you need to contact Panasonic customer support.

Thanks, that was a route I'd considered too! At least I've got UTV HD working till I can get a fix.

Could you not just tune to ITV HD manually at 11097 V 2300 2/3 as well for your own or closest region in the meantime too?

Hi mate, I've also got a BS750 BD PVR and was getting 'invalid channel', even after a factory reset. Try doing a non-Freesat manual scan and see if it works as mine had come back after that.

There's a bug in the software relating to SR changes which Panasonic have never resolved, would be fantastic if they got hounded with complaints to finally sort this as I shelled out quite a few quid on the unit - obviously in true Panasonic style though they won't now be interested!

Is that via the 'Other Satellite Tuning Menu'?

Edit : Thanks after the manual scan and a standard retune ITV HD worked.

Glad you got it sorted, guess there's many others still staring at a blank screen! It's as if the EPG data isn't mapped properly such that once the SID is scanned in to the units memory via 'other satellite tuning' then can tune it in ok. There was a similar problem with these PVR's during the Olympics when the BBC's Olympic HD feeds didn't work - I never tried a manual 'other tuning menu' rescan but if recurs in the future will give it a go.

This problem got even stranger. I've got the same set up in my bedroom Sky box plus Freesat Blu Ray recorder, so armed with the fix info I went to do the two scans, but the ITV HD channel was working perfectly -odd!

Could it be anything to do with this.

Television Technology Costa Blanca & Calida
Astra 2F ITV HD update.

ITV 1 HD yesterday disappeared from 10832 H & 10994 Horizontal. Looks like they were transmitting on both & switched across causing loss of reception of the above frequencies

HD ITV1: London, Granada, Meridian South East & Central West HD are now on.

11098 V 23000 DVBS-2 8psk

11068 V 23000 DVBS-2 8psk also seems to be duplicating a couple of the above, unsure why.

11098 V is the stronger frequency.

I'm using 11098 V 23000 DVBS-2 8psk input and its still glitchy, getting depressed if this is what I'm stuck with.

It's not just you, I get discontinuities very, very often on 11907 V despite a strong signal. Must be an encoding or transmission error.
