HOLY CRAP ! never realised that such speeds could be possible through the air ... that is amazing...... roll on 5g !”

What has this got to do with tablets?

You need to get more sleep.

Not much comfort to those of us who only get a dodgy 2G signal at the house, never mind 3G or 4G....

Actually some tablets are now 4G compatible - iPad Mini with Retina and iPad Air being 2 of them.

4g has resulted in many parts of the UK having their Freeview tv signals re-organised. With 5g (if that happens in the UK) it will mean a major headache for Freeview - there wont be much left over space for Freeview, and if most tv signals are rearranged to avoid 5g it would mean some thing like 50%+ of the UK needing a new tv aerial. Unless, there is a secret tory plan to axe Freeview and get everyone onto Sky, Freesat, or Cable - that's even if the BBC continues in its current licence fee form after the next gen election (if the tories win). If the BBC goes, you can wave goodbye to Freesat too, leaving just Sky or Cable.

BTW, I would rather have a responsive touch screen on a phone that doesn't crash much with only 3g, than one on a 4g signal but hampered by a unresponsive inaccurate touch screen and a OS that crashes every 10mins. The data transfer maybe fast (if you can get it), but the advantage is lost if you keep needing to reboot the thing, or keep re-typing stuff.

There was a guy on ideal world a week ago selling a
tablet, he had it hooked up to a big TV and was
showing ... some app... think it was a google app...
you get 5 gig free space in the cloud ! ( or was it 10 gig ? )

you can put your photos up there, videos etc.
He signed in and began playing a vid on the big screen
that was actually up in the cloud .

You need a wi fi connection of course...

Maybe this is the future, instead of having all your stuff on HDs and usb HDs .... you will simply put it up in the cloud... a quick sign in and all your stuff is there.

probably chromecast to display the tablet on the TV wirelessly.

And the future is not above moving to the cloud, that is already here for a lot of people.

DID a few pics with my panasonic hd camcorder
they are jpegs and I got them down to about 130 k

I put about 30 onto my tab... plus 3 old jpegs from my comp.

I get into the folder, all the pics are listed
the 3 old pics from my comp come up ok with just a tap

but none of the pics from my cam corder will come up !

All this faster broadband/5G is utter nonsense. Once you've got lots of people on the network all trying to download 4 gigs of porn or whatever the thing will grind to a halt.

You can drive a long a motorway at 70mph but the last 2 miles of your trip once you come off can still take forever with bottlenecks etc.

that would be great, you could get on line virtually anywhere, surf the net, save pics, vid clips, text etc.... you d have a screen bigger than the phone screen
You 'd have a keyboard as part of the case.
( pref plug in not blue tooth )

Tablets have speakers so you could listen to millions of radio stations and podcasts without earplugs.

(not sure if tablets do 3g ... my kindle tablet used to )”

Well, yes there are a number of tablets available over the market which is going to suite your needs I guess you can go forward with the samsung tab2 or tab4 version, they offer USB connectivity and they have expandable memory up to 64Gb using SD card. So, I think you can ...

I was just curious about the 128GB Micro SDXC.

6 months since launch, prices are already below £70. If they had stuck with normal full size cards in tablets, maybe we would already have 512GB ones available.

And Sandisk also do Wirelsss Fash cards, useful for those without an active SD or USB slot.

That's because it does not have one. Look on Apples website to see cable required.

Are you deliberately not reading what is posted in the replies? This has already been discussed and links posted.
