Ray has been complimentary about many of his fellow competitors in his blogs. Not an adverse word about anyone. This is what I find so disappointing and rather distasteful about Kyran in particular but also Suzanne of late, implying he is favoured and others are as good or better! And Suzanne's alleged comments about Hayley even though I think she has a point. Ray is marked top because he is the best - others have their opinions naturally but it is difficult to ignore his ability and prowess on the ice!
Ray comes across as a generous and sporting guy and I have no doubt if he were to be in the skateoff or did not win he would behave in a sportsmanlike manner.

Have a look at the last couple of pages of the threads "What's the Point" and "is Ray cocky" to get the gist. Essentially along with Jeff Brazier saying Sam is a better overall package under marked compared to Ray. Also Kyran thinks his prowess was under marked and not appreciated when others are marked higher for doing less. And Suzanne allegedly posted that Hayley can't skate. Remarks made after they were voted off the show so does come across as sour grapes and rather bitter. As a sportsman Kyran should be able to behave with more dignity I feel!
I think Kyran was upset at how he was presented to the public by ITV from day one of this series. He was upset about it and discussed it on a TV show. I just cannot remember, for the life of me, which show it was!! Or perhaps it was an article in the newspapers I know he was unhappy. He is not ready to step on people to win and he felt that he had been given this imagine by the producers of the show. I like him and was sorry to see him voted off the show. I like Ray but sometimes even I agree he is over-marked by the judges!!

It was the Wright Stuff on channel 5 mornings where he had a moan about the show. Ray is marked relative to the other celebs and if others have a 9.5 they have to give him 10 as he is really in a different league! IMO he has always deserved to be top of the leaderboard so from that point of view the actual mark is irrelevant.

He also complained about Bonnie on the The Wright stuff, claiming she beat him on the Ice Dance Tour only because she bribed the judges with coffees and chats before the show. I thought it was a bit odd to announce that on TV, but gave him the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe he had felt unjustly treated and was still angry about it. And I had no problem with him having the opinion that Sam was undermarked, but out of all the complimentary things you could say about Ray (and theres plenty, from work ethic/skating/performance/artistry) it was interesting he chose to use the word 'peacock' insinuating hes a show-off. So looking back to his comments on Bonnie, I'm beginning to wonder if its not just about sour grapes/touch of jealousy.
But nice to see Ray is still so complimentary about Kyran and everyone else.
