Is it illegal to upload music/videos to Youtube
I keep reading about copyright infringement etc.., so I was wondering how come there are millions of songs/videos on youtube??

Some music video and live performance videos are officially uploaded and are good promotional tools. Others that are not will only be taken down if there is a request by the copyright holder.
