I'm trying out the free trial of Netflix and thought I'd try out the free Unblock-US trial at the same time.
I set Unblock-US up last night on my Windows 7 pc and was pleasantly surprised to find it working on a couple of sites I'd previously needed a VPN for,
however I also noticed I was getting a lot of buffering issues with Iplayer via XBMC, so I disabled Unblock's DNS and tried as normal and all the buffering issues disappeared.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this, or could it just be that I'm on the free trial and the servers for that are different than for a paid account?

I was with UnblockUS early last year but had to cancel and remove their settings as my internet speed (browsing) was being affected with dramatic speed loss. I have recently tried again and it seems okay so not sure what can cause the issue and why it works ok for me now (same ISP router, laptop etc)??

If you google it, there are lots of people saying thay have problems woth UnblockUS DNS settings causing slow internet speed and it doesn't look like there is a clear answer\solution.

Not had any problems myself, but I only adjust the DNS on the device not the router to avoid such issues.

I do the same thing.

One thing I've noticed about the service is that it'll want to redirect you to the unblock us website if it detects you're using a new device, or when it claims the network has changed in some way, so you can re-enter your password. That, naturally, is going to cause issues on devices that can't display websites. So if you have problems connecting to, say, Netflix on a new device, try doing so on a PC and it should redirect you and after you confirm the problem should go away on the new device too.

You don't even have to do that, just save the following link to your smart phone/tablet Homescreen and if you notice a login issue just open it and see if the yellow box appears notifying of an IP change and then click the activation link.

I've got the unblockus DNS numbers added 2 my router & everything seems fine! ... Ping & download speeds are perfect on all my devices!

(Tho BBCiplayer on my Roku isn't showing all the icons properly but streams the program's fine when it needs 2, all other apps are unaffected!)

I noticed that *IP has changed* message everytime I used my kindlefireHD to browse the net so I turned off the (Silk) web accelerator & it's been fine since!

(I found it strange because my VM broadband IP hadn't changed for months & months!)

Thanks for the replies, this is an ongoing issue, I've had an answer from Unblock's CS for things to try but as of yet haven't had the time to go through quite a comprehensive set of instructions.
I did find when I set their DNS in my router the problem transferred to all my devices, I've also found it effects the Now TV service too, but only that and Iplayer everything else seems fine.
For now I've left their settings on the main pc I need it for but have left it off of my router, I'll come back with a post if/when I get an answer or solution
