Probably. Some things are just errors of the production rather than things to be explained

Purely artistic licence to create drama. Nothing to do with errors, as it needed to be storyboarded as such.

One man's artistic license is another man's error

I just watched "Invasion of Time" yesterday and a question occurred to me about that. As soon as the Vardans materialised the Doctor scanned them, worked out their planet of origin and used the TARDIS to put that planet in a time loop, preventing them from ever having launched their invasion and removing the threat. Then the Sontarans turned up to invade instead.

Now the Sontarans were well known, as was their planet of origin, so why couldn't he have just done the same with them?

Don't tell me... artistic license

I think they painted themselves into a corner somewhat - they needed Pete to be able to pull her over to the 'other side', but that would involve Pete appearing and disappearing so quickly that we would miss seeing him, or for there to be some other kind of device or technology explained earlier in the story that we could recognise being used, which would give the game away. What we got wasn't exactly an error, but didn't exactly make sense either.

It's a bit like if someone goes missing and never turns up - it's still possible to have a murder trial without a body if there's enough other evidence.

However, if it turns out that the person that was supposed to have died never existed in the first place?

"Pardon" may not have been the actual legal term used, but that's how River saw it - after all, she technically was guilty.

The bottom line is, if the Doctor's been subtly tweaking the past, then only subtle tweaks will be seen in the future - he would be careful not to rewrite her whole life.

I'll explain later.

It's easy enough to say that the Dimension hopping device he had around his neck was able to nullify the pull of the Void (for a few seconds anyway) afterall it was designed to let someone pass through the Void.

1. When did the Doctor first refer to himself as the Doctor, before or after leaving Gallifrey ?

2. Was An Unearthly Child, the Doctor's first visit to Earth ?

3. Is Adam Davros ?

Well, I think:-

1. The Time Lords referred to him as The Doctor....so BEFORE leaving Gallifrey.

2. No - he had visited Earth with Susan beforehand. Remember her comments about the French Revolution?

3. Adam is Todd Grimshaw in Corrie

Oh, sure, but they didn't do it. Probably easier and clearer to use a bit of artistic license rather than add a bit of expositionary dialogue that risks cluing the viewer into what's going to happen later.

Does The Doctor always need a story or can he, just maybe, a possibility?

Regarding Romana's regeneration, this short story offers one explanation...

What are you trying to ask here? We'll need a full coherent question before we can help you.

Why have no 'official' 12 and Clara promotional shots surfaced yet?. I Recall them releasing shots of ten with rose/martha/donna well before each of those respective series started, and well before series 5 we had that fun little 'vortex' trailer' with 11 and amy. in the absence of a anything else, I thought we would have at least got an official picture by now

The whole reason she was in danger was because the pull was so strong, and the Doctor is still hanging on for his life, yet they can casually stand closer with nothing happening. As I say I love the scene otherwise and the whole episode in fact but this point has always been a bit of a niggle for me in an otherwise great scene.”

I explain it to myself as there being a short period of time in which someone using a dimension jumper (or whatever they're called) is immune to outside interference - like the shields in 'Midnight' when there's like 5 seconds or something before they get sucked outside the ship.

Yes, I give myself these explanations.

That's pretty much what I thought must be the case myself, just thought i'd ask the question as that wasn't actually stated or even implied in the episode itself.

Anyway I have a new question (full of questions I know, but then again that is the purpose of the thread) which I posted a couple of posts up which is as follows.

If anyone knows anything about this it would interesting to know.

These days - The Doctor just opens the Tardis-doors....and hangs his companions outside into the void! If you opened those Tardis Doors (HUGE ONES) in the classic era, you would be sucked out into the vortex, (Salamander) OR SHRUNK INTO PIXIES!! (As in Planet Of Giants) .
