Wondering how 12 is going to be around Clara in S8. After all 11 said his relationship with Amy and Rory were so important because they were the first faces he saw after his regeneration. 10 saw Rose after he regenerated from 9. Rose was also the last person he saw on his goodbye tour of past companions. Save the best and most important untill last. 12 saw Clara so he will probabkly be protective of her. Guess he will have to learn to share when Danny shows up !.

I did always think there was something special about a companion who is at the Doctor's side when he regenerates. It was never really explored in classic Who, but it was a nice line in Matt's final scene about Amy being the first person he saw with his new eyes (even though she wasn't there for the actual transformation).

But I think Clara's role is much more like Rose's, as they were both there in the TARDIS with the Doctor when he actually regenerated. I did always wonder if that was one of the reasons the 4th Doctor was so close with Sarah Jane, because she was there with him practically holding his hand as he first appeared.

I think it is a very special bond and connection between the doctor and a companion when the companion is there as the doctor regenerates.
Clara was there when 11 regenerated to 12, so I think twelve is going to be really protective of Clara. Especially, considering the background and the role Clara has played in the doctors’ mythology as a whole. She was, after all, instrumental in the doctor being granted a whole new set of regenerations.

Not quite the same when Peri saw Peter turn into Colin though was it? They argued most of the time (which I found quite funny actually!)
