Bread making question
I decided to make some bread by hand. About a month ago bought some Allison's Dried Active Yeast, went by the instructions, and a lovely froth in the mug, so knew it was active.
A week ago had another go, decided to put honey instead of the sugar, no froth, but added baking powder to the flour, eatable, but not risen much. So thought it might have been the honey. Today went back to using sugar, after half an hour in a warm place still, no froth. I am lost at why it has not frothed up. The sell by date is Oct 2015 and I always make sure to put the plastic top on straight away. Any help appreciated thanks. |
