BT Infinity.

I am connected to Henlade Exchange which was fibre enabled on 13th Dec 2013.
According to BT Openreach it has been taking orders for Infinity since 31st Jan 2014.
A new fibre cabinet adjacent to the one my line is connected to was installed in early Dec 2013. I am about 500 metres from the cabinet.
When I apply for FTTC I am told it is not available to me.
I can get no information from BT (my line provider) if it will be available now or ever.
It is most frustrating!
Is this long wait normal or is there another problem I am not aware of?
Any information please.

What does the BT Wholesale line checker say?
https://www.btwholesale.com/includes/adsl/main.html

If it does not admit to FTTC then it is likely that OpenReach may not have commissioned the box you see. However I have seen the line checker say that FTTC will be available soon available some weeks before it is!

An exchange being "available for orders" means nothing! It is the FTTC box next to your phone lines cab which matters.

Thanks for the info BKM.
There is mains connected to the Fibre box but as to say it may not have been commissioned yet.
Any idea how long Openreach take to commission these boxes?

No - but it seems curious that nothing seems to be telling you that FTTC is going to be available in the next month or two - that is about as far ahead as they seem to admit to the public!

Does the wholesale checker definitely say that your line is connected to a cabinet?

Indeed. My exchange has been enabled for 2, maybe even 3 years and still none of the properties on my estate can get FTTC. Needless to say I don't think its going to happen any time soon, if ever.

On the bright side at least OP mentions the fibre cab is installed and has power going to it.
