We need a big Mitchell storyline.
Ronnie is back and it is clear she is now a proper villain. However, there is a new dynamic now that she has bought the gym and clashed with Sharon. I think there is the potential for a Mitchell civil war with Ronnie becoming head of the Mitchell family. My plan would be for Sharon to get pregnant by Phil and the two decide to marry. However, Ronnie who knows about how Phil killed a homeless man back in 1994 threatens to tell Sharon when she confronts him about Phil's engagement. Phil clearly has enough, so she calls Grant to come back to Walford. Grant arrives in Walford with Sam, Peggy, Courtney, Richard and possibly a new wife (played by Denise Van Outen or Patsy Kensit) for Phil's wedding. Sharon and Grant rekindle their romance and have an affair whilst Phil (unsure of his relationship with Sharon) starts to rekindle his romance with Shirley. Phil does marry Sharon and they have a reception in The Vic but Peggy suddenly dies (that way Peggy can die in the place that she loved). Ben returns for his grandmother's funeral. However, Ronnie finds out about Phi and Sharon's separate affairs and reveals it at the funeral which leads Grant and Sam to leave Walford. Ronnie also reveals to Sharon that Phil killed a homeless man and lies to Sharon about Dennis Rickman. Sharon realizes that she can't trust Phil and Phil descends into alcoholism. Phil's condition becomes life threatening and Shirley looks after him but Ronnie sends him to rehab and takes over his businesses. Ronnie becomes head of the Mitchell family.

Ronnie's purchase of the gym could see her and Roxy running a self defence class for the female residents of Walford. I wouldn't let Ronnie write the course though, she'd chain up a rogue's gallery of Walford's worst, tell everyone to 'pair off and grab a bastard' for fifteen minutes of crowbar sparring, followed by advanced classes in corpse disposal.

I can cope with Ronnie & Roxy, but I really want Phil Mitchell gone now. He's a nostalgic reminder of the Eastend of 30-40 yrs ago, & his "Cockney geeza hard-man" persona is a relic of the past, with no basis in the reality of comtemporary East London.
Billy Mitchell too is also surplus to requirements. (although I'd miss Perry Fenwick who is a good actor). The Mitchells are a shadow of their former selves & apart from the Roxy/Ronnie addition in recent years, looked like they were gradually on their way out. Because Phil is an icon this'll never happen though. |

It's a no from me. I want Sharon to screw Phil over, make him an emotional wreck and push him off her specially designed balcony!

This. I want Sharon to show her independent side again rather than being so man-dependent as she has been recently

No more bloody Mitchell dominated storylines would be a blessing.
However if Ronnie hung Philth on a meat-hook, tortured him for a couple of days and then killed him that would make me very happy indeed!

No thanks. It's been a very welcome change of pace for the Mitchells to not be shoved down our throats constantly the way they dominated the show for years.

This is silly. The Mitchells are a major family in EastEnders and have been part of the most memorable storylines. They are also very popular. With the emergence of the Carters and the reemergence of the Beales, it's important that they have a story and that Ronnie could rise to become the main villain of the show.
![]() But I am sick and tired of Phil. Without him the Mitchells would be just fine.

I think the Mitchells should take a back seat for a while, although I'm looking forward to the murder aftermath that's coming up. And I certainly don't want to see Peggy and Sam back.

Plan B wouldn't take part in EastEnders.
That aside. I'm in two minds about it, I don't think they need a storyline per se - just more screentime. Characters, like Max, Lauren, Dexter and Fatboy don't necessarily have any storylines, but are seen a lot and I think now we're seeing bad girl Ronnie I think we'll start to see more of them.. |
