Hayley's flying didn't have anything complicated. Simple routine and therefore it was easy for to maintain the lines that Jason was banging on about.

Did anyone just watch the judges reactions and think "WTF"? It was good but I've seen a lot better, I felt like I'd just watched something completely different to them
As shown last week she's useless when she's not clinging to Dan like a linchpin. Im sick to the back teeth of her. I think that some people have a problem with Hayley because they like Beth and see her through rose tinted glasses. I am sorry but I think that the judges were kind to Beth. Most of her flying Beth had her partner holding on to her as if Beth was frightened of flying out of control. I cannot believe that this has not been mentioned about Beth's flying routine. |

How much skating did Sam, Beth, Ray do in their flying routine?
![]() Our cat did more than Hayley when he was skating along the wooden kitchen floor during the show chasing a catnip mouse. |

The idea of flying is that not much skating is done by the celeb....hence the term FLYING! !!! So whats with the constant digs over Hayleys lack of skating??? We get it she doesn't do solo skating well!!

I agreed with the full marks. Definitely the performance of the night.

It was completely ridiculous to give Hayley those scores for DOING NO SKATING AT ALL!!
It was the usual pattern. Hayley didn't skate alone, she avoided the difficult bit of transitions and she did the dancing moves Suzanne did - but avoided trying the big spin Suzanne did at the end of her routine. Top marks again for a badly incomplete routine - when anyone listening to the judges knew what was lacking. . Again votes and top marks for doing something simpler than other people got to do., and that others could have done. |

I thought it deserved the scores it got as it was the best flying routine ever alongside Suzanne's and I thought Hayley's lines / transitions / moves were all great, I do think the crying was OTT though.

Quite so. I do find the constant carping at Hayley very, very tiresome. I specifically watched Beth's flying routine to see how much skating was involved and there was virtually none. She landed on the ice once, the same as Hayley but that was barely mentioned by posters on here. Hayley's lines throughout the routine were beautifully held and if you watch Ray again, you will see the difference. He couldn't maintain his, hence the low marks. It's not that easy to do. I think we all admit that Hayley's solo skating is her weak spot, no question. It doesn't have to be pointed out 'ad nauseam' There are always a lot of posts about how cruel the judges are to Beth. Sorry but I don't see that. What I do see is Robin's constant sarky comments to Hayley about her 'cheesey grin' and constant smiling. She takes it in good part but I never see any sympathy on here for her for that. We all have our favourites but that's no excuse to constantly criticise the other contestants. I doubt I shall log in to DS during the final, the bitterness on here if Beth doesn't beat Hayley will be overpowering

I thought Hayley's flying routine was lovely - for a flying routine. Did it deserve 10s? I don't know. It certainly looked like the best flying routine of the night to me – I just don't see the point of flying routines. I thought we'd already established that Hayley could strike a lovely pose and bring 'character' to a routine while being carried around and letting her partner do all the skating, so it was telling that Hayley's only perfect score this series has been the one that didn't involve any skating at all. The flying routines challenge the celeb's balance, posture and ability to combat motion sickness but they don't challenge their ability to dance or skate (which is surely what 'dancing on ice' means?)
I don't agree with those saying Hayley's routine wasn't all that good: I think it was an extremely good flying routine. I just don't really understand what flying routines are doing in a show called dancing on ice, where the only people doing any dancing on ice are the pro skaters. |

Yes when being supported by Dan or wires she was graceful - but there was little difficulty in that routine and it didn't hold a candle to Suzanne's. Not bitter at all - it just didn't hold any WOW factor for me. Beth's and Ray's were far better imo. |

She's obviously their favourite, yet they know Ray is probably the public's favourite so they marked Hayley up and Ray down. They must think the viewers are idiots.

I don't agree, I think that Hayley was amazing. My husband hardly watches any of the reality shows but he even commented on how good she was.

When I heard the result I thought "Hayley beats Ray! Thank you God for making my day!"
She will never beat him with actual ice-skating that's for sure.

People can say it was easy, but when Ray attempted to flip he went all over the place and failed, but Hayley did 4 in a row. Perfectly.

As someone who often gets somewhat irritated at home by Hayley being overmarked, I did think she deserved every 10.0 she got for her flying routine. Although her routine admittedly did look fairly straight-forward, I can assure you that it wasn't - while it was lacking transitions from the ice to the air, it is very difficult to hold the positions she did for so long and look so elegant doing them. She was also given the challenge of lifting Daniel off the ice, though I understand most (if not everyone) did something like it. Add to that the emotion and story she told throughout it, and she made what could have been a slightly sickly performance hauntingly beautiful. Her second routine, however, was enough to make me heave with all the cheese.
![]() However, Beth's routine was, in comparison, undermarked. It was an extremely challenging routine, with several moves that matched Hayley's 'big move' that looked far more exciting and adventurous. In my opinion, she deserved at least 9.5's across for that, if not more. And, although I found Chris' speech about her marks a little cringe-worthy, I pretty much agreed with it all. ![]() So, as a summary, I tend to see it more that Beth was undermarked in relation to the others, not Hayley being overmarked. But hey, it's all just my opinion.
