Why do some people think Alfie is in the wrong?
I keep seeing many comments about how Alfie is behaving like an idiot and is in the wrong for wanting Stacey to leave. Surely he's actually right though? They would get into a lot of trouble for hiding Stacey while she's on the run, he's worried about Kat's health, when he asked Stacey to leave it was clear that he did care about her as he hugged her and offered her money, he's angry that Janine might get away with murdering his cousin...surely the way he's been acting lately is actually quite understandable? I actually felt sorry for him during the last few weeks episodes.

Alfie is an oddball and a manipulative creep, but for once he has a point.
He is an absolute mug though. Kat is a compulsive liar and just makes a fool of him over and over again, which he accepts. |

It wasn't just anyone who Janine killed it was his own cousin. He is right to be angry at Kat for making an innocent girl be locked up for a crime what Janine did.

I think Alfie is right for not wanting Stacey living under the same roof as himself, he's worried that he and Kat would get done for harbouring a criminal and he doesn't want any trouble. He's just protecting his family.
He was silly saying that Stacey was his and Kat's daughter though! |

I think many people on here, including myself, simply can't stand Alfie.
SO regardless of what his intentions are or what he does, I can't cope with Shane Richie and his awful acting.. let alone Alfie 'the cheeky chappy' routine. Kat is the life and soul of Kalfie and the sooner Alfie goes, the better! |

I think I'm just biased against Alfie because of his irritating cheeky chappy routine, but yet in this case he has a point.

I dislike Alfie. I don't like the way he is acted. I think Shane Richie plays himself. His "cheeky chappy" routine is so annoying and utterly false. The character isn't a very nice person and I prefer Kat without him. I think Alfie should go.

Alfie isn't liked on here, by many, and I feel many DS users, would complain, with whatever storyline he got given.
Cause they do not like him. |

Shane does indeed play himself! I think he's a lovable buffoon most of the time, he does sometimes say and do daft things and he was rotten leaving Roxy. I don't think Alfie's persona is false at all. Imo it's just the way Shane is, I don't regard him as just an actor but as an all round entertainer, he was on the tv alot when I was younger and i've always loved him and his manic laugh.
We most be of a similar age, as I remember him as a kid, for shows like the Saturday Night Experience, and he was a redcoat for Butlins, so acting wasn't his first choice. I guess many people who write on here, aren't old enough, to have known Shanes career, before his acting. I see Alfie, as a character Shane has free rein for, to naturally play himself, it seems weird seeing him involved in heavy storylines, as it is just not him. I prefer him when he plays Shane. As it seems more natural |

i'm sure he likes being Kats bitch which is why he keeps going back for more. There is not one bloke on the square with the bollocks they were born with. Screaming Harpies do not = strong women, they are what they are tired out old hags, mutton with baps like spaniels ears.
Stacey will be shagging max & mick by xmas. |

The same reason people are fine with Janine getting away with murder but not Stacey. Double standards.
Alfie can do no right for some people on this forum. If it was the other way about Kat would be getting Applauded for being so moral and Alfie would still be the worst person in the world. |

As it seems more natural I remember Shane on 'You Gotta Be Joking' with Billy Pearce and on the Daz doorstep challenge ads, everytime someone knocked on our door I always hoped it was Shane so I could make him a cuppa but it never was. Wasn't he on that channel 5 karaoke show Night Fever? The one with Suggs? |

When he was younger he was much slimmer and had more hair and was a bit of a looker, he's still not half bad, I wouldn't say no put it that way! |

Who is he to act as judge, jury and executioner? He's not even Stacey's family really - and certainly not by any blood connection. Did think when he found Stacey's pills for a sec that he'd do something really nasty like chuck them away - then I realised he'd just clocked she wasn't taking them. Also he needs to get off the moral ground - there is nothing worse than a moralistic loser. |

If anyone stuck their nose in where it wasn't wanted it was Kat, if she'd kept her nose out Alfie wouldn't need to do or say anything!

I wonder if the positions were reversed and say Alfie was jeopardizing everything for Spencer, what those criticising him would say.
