Well, the impossible has happened. Pity it wasn't Hayley in the skate off though. She's been consistently overmarked.

Exactly. His flying routine put him in danger, rightly so.
I think people voted for Beth, as the judges have been so biased against her, on the assumption that even if Ray ended up in the bottom two he'd be saved for the final.
Maybe it's not too late for Ray to learn some humility as he has been so smug both in his original series and this one.
I was sad to see Sam go as I think he was one of the few to give Ray a run for his money.

Sam should be in the final not Beth or hayley. Beth can't perform and hayley can't skate very well. I much prefer Sam. Sam has been so under marked the whole series.
I think Sam should be brought back next week to compete they should have four in the final like strictly.

Wow..highlight of the series? I take it you're not watching it for the skating and performing then?
Watching some glorious performances that showed great skating ability, artistry, partnership and dance (as well as hard work) has been the highlight for me (and Rays been responsible for most of them

You might like to watch some French Revolution footage. Formerly smug, complacent aristocrats looking terrified as they take the walk to the guillotine sounds like it'd be right up your street

I thought Ray's dancing in the skate off was exquisite - the sheer elegance and artistry showed why he is a cut above the others.

Beth got voted through on a sympathy vote for some virus or another that was irrelevant last week and more so this week. She is good, but not as good as the other three competitors
Surely the whole idea of the show has, or should have been, been based on merit, not of back-stories, puerile VT's and so on.

Beth's the best left in the competition, for me. Her routine last night (skating, not flying) was one of the best the show has ever had. The flow she had over the ice going in and out of the lifts and tricks was effortless.
Chris speaking up proves that she isn't the weakest at all, and the public clearly agree. It's a shame that the judges attitude towards her as left those who aren't a fan of Beth to believe that's why she's getting through, when it's actually because she's a good contestant.
I'm baffled as to how anyone can say Hayley is better than Beth and it's quite clear they're the ones voting for other reasons than what the show should be about.
Not that it matters, because every reality show isn't purely based on the talent. Talent will only get you so far, you have to be nice and appeal to the public or you won't get the votes. If you're looking for something that is judged on talent alone, reality TV isn't for you.

I am baffled that you say Beth is the best left in the competition, I am really, really baffled because it blatantly is not correct.
As for her routine being one of the best ever, I am gobsmacked.
