Well it should have been Sam and Beth in the skate off with Beth going. I am no fan of Sam but he is better overall than Beth.

Whatever happens I think that the top two should be Hayley and Ray. I think that the judges are spot on tonight myself!

I agree Sam should still be there, he is 2nd to Ray imo.

This show has been a travesty IMO since Jorgie was sent home in the first show. Might as well finish as they started

Yes I totally agree with you about Beth. Hayley is much better than Beth and Beth leaves me cold too. I don't dislike Beth but thinks she gets a lot of backing from the public because she is an Olympian. After all, like somebody else on here (above) pointed out it is dancing on ice and Hayley and Ray are the best for that. Hayley is my winner but it would not shock me if Ray wins. But sorry, Beth doesn't deserve it, just like she didn't last year. Yes, she's a very good gymnast but for me not the best or the winner of dancing on ice.

Agreed. It was proven last week. She would win by a landslide if it were a competition over the top facial expressions. In my opinion Suzzanne and Jorgie (and Beth to some extent) are WAY better . There was NO way she should have been marked top of leader board tonight. Never thought this until tonight but her being top makes me realise what a farce the show is. If Beth or Hayley win the final series, the champion of champions then this will highlight this

Totally agree with this. But it is dancing on ice, this is why it's out of Hayley and Ray for me. Ray is without doubt the best skater but Hayley and Dan make the best partnership for me and this is why they are my winners. But if Ray wins so be it, but I would love for Hayley to be at least 2nd!

Hayley had the worst solo skate since Chloe Madeley.

The bits in bold made me laugh out loud.

If it's dancing on ice, then how come you think Hayley deserves to win? She gets carried around on ice, and when her feet do touch the ice, she's dragged around on ice, occasionally just about managing to swing her arms about at the same time.

I'm not quite sure how any of that is "dancing on ice" and if anyone is being voted for for anything other than "dancing on ice", it's Hayley.

I may be out of step on this thread but I would not be disappointed if Beth wins, in fact I will be voting for her to win! I think she is the best skater and ice dancer and that is what the competition is all about.. Having said that I wouldn't mind if Ray wins but really don't think Hayley should!

Beth upped her game last night and showed that she really does deserve her place in the final.

I would not count myself a Beth fan and I do think Ray is the best skater (but I do find him smug - although his face was a picture last night when he finally realised that he does not have this in the bag) but after last night and the blatant over-marking of Hayley just to get her in the final at Beth's expense I would not be a bit upset if Beth won.

Chris was right when he said that Beth deserved at least one 10 last night. No way did Hayley deserve so many of them!!

I'm a real fan of ice skating, and I heard Chris say he thought Beth was techically the best last night.

Chris didn't say that, he said "Technically that was the hardest routine tonight" and "She's technically one of the best in the show".

No reference to her being technically the best.

Nope it should be about talent and ability Ray is almost as good as the professionals! Hayley can't skate very well without Dan and if its about arrogance and confidence she's just as smug and confident if not worse people seem to have forgotten quite how big-headed she became in her series with comments such as "it's mine to lose and I know I'm going to win"

I've replied on another thread, fair enough about the wording, but he did praise her technique, and technique has been promoted on here as a fair vote-winner.

but these shows are ALWAYS about popularity! its never about the best skater or the best dancer or the best singer

DOI, SCD and any other talent show is the same, the "popular" contents always wins over the "most talented"

I agree - though I'd have Ray top and Hayley second. For me it's a no-brainer: Ray is the best by a mile - in skating, dancing, performing and interaction with his partner (though Hayley and Dan are great together). If he doesn't win then imo it's a travesty. He was ill-served by that flying routine (as men usually are) but his other skate was sublime.

In which case you would need to ditch the public vote AND ensure the judges always mark objectively. Can the latter even be achieved or even the paramaters agreed? They don't even manage it in competitive skating very well.

This isn't a bog standard series, though - it's a 'champion of champions' series. The best of the champions should win, not the one who everyone feels has been most unfairly treated by the judges.

Nor the one who can't skate.

that wont ever happen as long as the public have a say in the vote - the public vote on personality and who they like - whether they are the best or not

If it is somehow a given that the best of the champions should win - and moreover a given as to who that is, then not only should there not be a vote, there need not even be a show!
