Okay, I get it. Beth is a nice girl and likeable but this is all stars and champion of champions. How insulting for the shows memory to have someone who is average win over the best contestant ever on the show (Ray). Really don't understand it

She's anything but average.
As for "insulting the shows memory" what a silly overreaction! |

She's actually been a favourite of many since the beginning. After we lost Jorgie in Week 1, I have always wanted her to win and I think it would be well deserved. I wouldn't mind Ray winning but I will be supporting Beth.

The reason people support beth is because she has improved, a brilliant technical skater and is continuously under marked and picked on by the panel! Where as Ray is slightly arrogant and has been on the same level since week 1 till now! And hayley has underperformed from what my memory of her was! Beth is the one that has not had an easy ride also she is the only one left with a new partner

But last year Beth won on a hollow victory cause she was not as good as Matt yet still won her series. I just think she is really average compared to the other stars on the show. I cannot remember any stand out performances from her. |

nothing more insulting that
a former Champion who's role on the panel is looking at the SKATING totally ignoring that another member of the panel who puts input into the routines THEN does nothing but slag of the routine like she didn't even play a part in it? you have a washed up TV Baddie who after next week will vanish just like he did after getting sacked last time. And finally the IAC runnerup who showed her true personality last year will finally realise her 15 mins is over. this panel has been a complete joke the overmarking to make sure they got a result of Beth and whoever into the skateoff totally backfired just look at the reaction of them last year when she won the show. If they want to get pissy the show is being axed maybe dropping the blatant bias for certain people would explain why viewers simply stopped watching. |

This comes from someone who really disliked Beth last year, but she's my favourite.
Her and Jorgie personally deserved to reach this final, ok Ray probably does deserve his place, but I don't believe that he is the best in DOI history at all, IMO the best one isn't even in this series. |

Beth deserves her place in the final every bit as much as anyone else. I hope she wins, I'd much rather watch her than Ray.

Dancing on Ice should have done what SCD did and axe the Skate off when it reaches Top 4 etc. That said, it must be frustrating for the judges to see someone as average each week get saved. When they mark her down for being not as good they get accused of "bullying" and "bias" so now the panel cannot criticise her as the fans will just say this.. |

Ray's the best but I wouldn't mind Beth winning. Chris Dean seems to think she's worthy and that's good enough for me.
Most annoying point for me was Jason's last diatribe. "you have to be the complete package to be in the final and that's Ray, Hayley and Sam!". Just how is Hayley 'the complete package' anymore than Beth? She can't skate! |

Ray is the best, anyone who knows anything or everything about skating will say he is. You may not like his personality but he IS the best ice-skater to appear on this show, even Torvill and Dean say so. You are entitled to your opinion of course but it is the wrong one.
![]() But my opinion is not wrong despite what you say, no opinion is right or wrong in this situation. |

Everyone sees something different in the performances, and I'm happy if she wins because people are moved by her performance more than Rays for example, or they feel shes skated better. But in most responses I've seen about support for Beth theres always at least a bit about getting the judges back, or because they feel shes been undermarked. I do understand how annoying it can be when you think the results are not as fair as you'd like them, but to vote for a winner on this premise is a bit much. The judges will move on to their new jobs and aren't going to be effected as much as people seem to think...its the skaters who lose out who will feel it, especially if that skater has performed better. As much as I'd love Ray to win, and feel he performs and skates better and people vote for him for mainly the one reason - they enjoy watching him perform more than anyone else, I have to appreciate that theres no right and wrong and others see different things. I only hope Jason praises Beth next week and all the judges give her great marks, so that if she does win, at least I will feel its because the public genuinely thought she was the best there and not a reaction to whatever comments Jason made at the time.
So it's not at all about the judging bias; but I think it's fine for that to play a part. It's not the Olympics, it's soap/reality, really; so partly a personality contest and she has a lovely personality. |

Just how is Hayley 'the complete package' anymore than Beth? She can't skate! As I mentioned earlier, I wish Jason and the rest would keep all these comments out of it, so that people are left to vote for who they indeed think is the best skater rather than a reaction to what he says. If I was a Beth supporter I wouldn't be annoyed at Jasons comments at all, as every time this happens it just means more votes for Beth. |

I agree Jorgie should have lasted a lot longer and if your talking about Chris Fountain I agree it's a real shame he's not in this series .
I was talking about Laura, but Chris is probably 2nd for me, it was a shame he couldn't have been in this series, but I can see why he isn't. (although I think it's a complete shambles for him to be fired, but that's a completely different story) |

That's fair enough - but take tonight for instance. Her flying was the best of all of the, I thought; and her other skate was very, very good. She's technically better as a skater than everyone other than Ray.
So it's not at all about the judging bias; but I think it's fine for that to play a part. It's not the Olympics, it's soap/reality, really; so partly a personality contest and she has a lovely personality. |
