Ray's the best but I wouldn't mind Beth winning. Chris Dean seems to think she's worthy and that's good enough for me.
Most annoying point for me was Jason's last diatribe. "you have to be the complete package to be in the final and that's Ray, Hayley and Sam!". Just how is Hayley 'the complete package' anymore than Beth? She can't skate! I think its testament to Beth she hasn't gone nuts will all of them. Ashley sitting there with her roots showing and dried out hair just like her music career giving advice on performances

It's hardly a rebellion believe or not people are more than capable of making their own judgement based on someone's talent not simply to tick off the judges.
Beth has come out there this year and last year and done nothing but do her best and take on every comment on board from the judges even the most inane sometimes and done her best to please them and all they do is find a new reason to pick fault. If Beth wins it is because people think she is the best and if people vote her as that then she is simple as that she is the best. If anything what is going to tarnish the memory of the show is the petulant attitudes of the judges who behave more and more unprofessionally as each week passes and behave like more like spoilt kids in a playground not getting their own way rather than the mature professional adults they are meant to be. Beth is by no means an average champion but I guess too many are blinded by it must be uber dazzling constant performance doesn't matter if they make 20 mistakes as long as it has been over performed to recognise that she is technically one of the best they have ever had and I would say that Beth in terms of the skating the best of all the girls they have had although Claire could have given her a challenge. |

Not a Beth fan but I think we can all see that she has been tactically placed on the score charts these last weeks.
Dancing on Ice should have done what SCD did and axe the Skate off when it reaches Top 4 etc. That said, it must be frustrating for the judges to see someone as average each week get saved. When they mark her down for being not as good they get accused of "bullying" and "bias" so now the panel cannot criticise her as the fans will just say this.. |

If you look at the public voting stats for Ray's & Beth's previous series they are pretty evenly matched. I went into more detail a couple days ago so I won't re-post.

That's fair enough - but take tonight for instance. Her flying was the best of all of the, I thought; and her other skate was very, very good. She's technically better as a skater than everyone other than Ray.
So it's not at all about the judging bias; but I think it's fine for that to play a part. It's not the Olympics, it's soap/reality, really; so partly a personality contest and she has a lovely personality. |

I agree Beth's flying routine was the best of the night but should you win an ice-dancing show because you did the best flying routine? I do hope not.

Haley blags her way through the poor skating.
Its been a number of years and bet the soap schedule means her level of practise this series isn't anywhere near like her first year. Its the panel made fans highlight the flaws in Haley as the panel are happy to overlook these because they know "performance" wise she will deliver. But again its making a complete joke of Robin and Karen even being there. I love the Faux outrage on the wrong people being in the skateoff again the panel cant see the people left in this contest have all relied and won on the votes from the public the way they spoke tonight its like Todd was saved. Its the reason ITV's reality shows are dying the panel makes the wrong conclusions then wonders why the public highlight that fact. The egos must be huge the public dare defy them Jason is a sad little man with a terrible hair transplant he assumed coming back onto the show would stop the ratings decline and he would be the Saviour of this show. Karen also needs reminding of the year she was put on the naughty step because she's a crap judge. Guessing during the week she doesn't mention how Beth always seems to get a very bland routine and also would suggest doesn't mention anything about beth's "performance" factors but seems to find enough time in the live shows. Sorry I sound like a broken record tonight but when you see Ego's like that panel in action there is no wonder so many people simply stopped watching. |

I hope not too, but it clearly affected the voting tonight. Yes, Beth is a nice girl and a good skater but (through no fault of her own) she is not a natural performer and is lacking in charisma on the ice - that's why I don't believe she would be a worthy Champion of Champions.
People clearly didn't like what they were seeing with Ray or Sam if they did more people would have picked up the phones and voted for them. Sam was bottom of the leaderboard anyway so even if people insist on being pedantic then the judges had him as the weakest tonight, he deserved to be in the skate off and to therefore go home. Given he is committed to doing Seven Brides he could hardly have committed much time to training for the final and is not doing the tour so his time was pretty much up anyway I remember series 4 there being a bit of a fuss when Donal came second again the judges didn't really seem to want him to do that well and they didn't have him booked on the tour although I think he did do a couple of shows in the end. |

Why is this thread just aimed at Beth fans? Hayley's just as much to blame for him being in the skate off i.e. he's better than both of them.
Beth deserves her place in the final and clearly the majority agree. She's had support since she entered the competition last year - her support isn't just because she's being unfairly treated, it's because she's actually one of the best contestants to ever be on the show. Chris and Jayne acknowledged tonight that she's one of the best technical skaters and deserved 10's tonight. She can skate and is one of (if not the) best contestant to pull off the lifts and tricks. I saw nothing wrong with her performance tonight. Sometimes she struggles with it and it can damage the routine somewhat, but not tonight and even so, when she does lack in performance, she makes up for it with skating, lifts and tricks. The judges treating her unfairly just makes me root for her a little more strongly. I'm personally hoping for a Beth win, but not because of how the judges have treated her - I just prefer her type of routines over Ray's and Hayley's. |

At the start of the series, I thought the final would be Ray, Beth and Hayley simply because I think they are the best skaters. Despite all the controversy, the right final has been reached.
I am 90% that Ray will win, but I think Beth has an outside chance. I just think Beth's performances have that little "Wow" factor that the others don't have. I will vote for Beth, but won't mind who wins as Ray and Hayley would be worthy winners too. |

I only hope Jason praises Beth next week and all the judges give her great marks, so that if she does win, at least I will feel its because the public genuinely thought she was the best there and not a reaction to whatever comments or scores Jason and the others made at the time.
![]() If she wins, it's because the majority prefer her routines and/or prefer her personality. Only fans of those being hard done by will vote for them. If my favourite was Ray or Hayley, I wouldn't switch my vote to Beth because the judges have treated her unfairly? ![]() Those who are indifferent to all three, but vote for Beth because of the treatment of her, will be a very small minority and won't make any difference to the end vote. |

The point for me though is that she is better than Hayley who is all jazz hands, toe pick dancing and owns two facial expressions yet she is slapped down and often quite cruelly. I can see that Beth does routines that are harder with higher technical content and this is rarely acknowledged whereas Hayley's flaws are brushed over. Beth is now my favourite though I do believe that, on merit, she should have finished 3rd behind Sam and Ray. I voted for Beth because she deserves a finals place not because she is the best. I wonder if her vote will lessen next week anyway as the public won't feel she is in danger from biased judges marks

I don't think Beth is average. She is technically a better skater than Hayley but she consistently gets marked down while Hayley's lack of technical ability is ignored and her marks are based on performance rather than skating.
Beth is a much better skater than Hayley, and despite Beth's performance style not being able to match the OTT gurn of Hayley's, they're a lot closer in that respect than listening to the judges will have you believe. Beth emotes better and I feel her in the slower routines - Hayley has one speed, jazz hands and a grin - so that makes her lessor IMO. |

Okay, I get it. Beth is a nice girl and likeable but this is all stars and champion of champions. How insulting for the shows memory to have someone who is average win over the best contestant ever on the show (Ray). Really don't understand it

I think with Ray being the best skater and Hayley the better performer and equal to Ray in dancing that these two are definitely the best. Sorry but for me Beth struck lucky last year in winning and she definitely does not deserve the winner of winners this year. That should go to Hayley or Ray! |

Personally I have voted for only one person this whole series and that is Beth! I think she is the best skater, I love her routines, lifts and her fab ice skating and dancing! She has been treated very badly by all the judges but always reacts in the same way, I will learn and do better, which she has! Chris was spot on tonight she should have been awarded 4 x 10s for her flying!!!!

![]() But I do think that Ray will go on to win next week! Hopefully Hayley will take 2nd place if that's the case. That would be fine for me even though Hayley is my favourite. |

She comes across as very humble and never argues back. She always says she will learn from what the judges say. Oh about the bronze medal, well have you won anything for your country? I am very proud that Beth won something for GB.

Personally I'll be disappointed if Beth wins because I believe she is the weakest all round performer left, and I would have preferred her not to be in the final. I was hoping for a Ray, Hayley, Suzanne final three. All original partnerships with such good chemistry and all produced stand out, memorable performances, which for me Beth hasn't (the only performance of her which sticks out to me is Clown, can't remember any others). This is just my opinion though, and if she does win I won't believe it's part of a 'rebellion' I will accept that more people wanted her to win than the other two.
