musicangel Have you met Beth to make this assumption? or are you having a tantrum simply because she has either already knocked your favourite out or is a threat to your favourite.

Also how dare you say anyone supporting Beth needs a reality check. Everyone is entitled to support who they want for whatever reason regardless of what your opinion is on that person it doesn't give you the right to insult people for supporting their favourite. I'm sure if I was to say you needed a reality check for supporting whoever you wouldn't be that happy about it.

IMO Beth comes across and lovely and genuine and she is Britain's most successful gymnastic something she has every right to be proud of. She hasn't given back any attitude to the judges unlike many others in previous years and seems to have gotten on well with everyone. Hardly the behaviour of someone that you descrbe a pain in the bum.

I think she's become even stronger with the skating, lifts and tricks. Tonights routine matched some of Clare and Suzanne's bigger moves. Its about all you could expect given the size of her partner - the floatspins, headbangers and overhead lifts are limited by his power. Suzanne can do more still, but adding even more difficulty, ended up in her losing some precision. Jorgie might have been competitve too - but she didn't even survive week one. Beth not only turned out the big moves, but she seemed to have an awful lot of them crammed into one routine. Suzanne sometimes managed three or 4 , Ray usually makes one, Hayley is producing none. Beth seems to be doing more than anyone left by a big margin.

She's not an actor like Hayley, or a stage performer lihe Ray, or a trained dancer like both, but I can't see much wrong with her performance level either. She's fine in the right role, and Ray and Hayley have pretty obvious limits on what roles they should try too. I wouldn't trust that panel's comments on anyone's acting ability. No one on that judging panel has any acting credentials (Robin is pretty bad, karen doesn't , Ashley is a singer/dancer and Jason was a dance captain , not an actor or director) so I don't know why anyone believes what they say - when we often see something different. .

Loved her in the Olympics and love her on DOI. I think it's disgraceful that Jason et el have been allowed to try and humiliate her week after week. I was so glad when both Chris and Jayne voiced their disappointment with her marks. Quite frankly I don't mind who wins out of Ray and Beth but, the panel will only have themselves to blame if the non-skater walks away with the whole thing!

Imo Beth has little personality on the ice, and routines are bland and boring, ir seems as though she's the john Sargent of the series... Which is why this is the last series... Great skaters have gone she stays

I wonder how Beth is feeling this morning. I just hope she doesn't see all the comments against her. It's not her fault that people are voting for her to stay in.

I think Chris right to speak out when he did. Beth and Sam have both been undermarked for most of the series. The judges certainly have their favourite.

Last night I watched back some of Matthew Wolfenden's routines and I think he was a very strong champion and would most certainly given Ray a run for his money as would Chris Fountain.

I guess it's a bit like when Victoria Pendleton was in SCD, and even though she was painful to watch, the public seemed to want to keep voting for her (for a while at least, until it just became too unwatchable ~ that Samba, yeeesh!). I wonder if that was purely because she was an Olympic medalist too?

Then again, Beth is a far better skater than Victoria was a dancer, and she did win her series after all.

Why is Beth getting all the blame for Golden boy being in the skate off? The public can vote for who they like. There is no hiding the fact that the judges are biased in their voting. For Jason to come out and say that they are looking for the whole package. How has Hayley got the whole package any more than Beth has? Beth is a better skater than Hayley and Hayley is a better performer. But then she would be seeing as she is trained in that part. If anything Sam was robbed and the two girls should have battled it out in skate off but it doesn't work like that and the public will vote if they see it unfair that certain people are being harshly judged. The public like an underdog! Beth never gives any attitude or she never goes in a sulk if her marks are lower than expected she just gets on with it.

I think in the end Ray will win but it's not the end of the world if Beth beats him. If anything the judges will have themselves to blame because they can't hide their personal feelings towards certain celebs

I think Chris and Jayne (the choreographers) know which routine was the most difficult and which performance was the best. Hayley made only two transitions from air to ice and both were clumsy - for the rest of the flying she did her usual, being guided by Dan - only on this occasion she had extra guidance - the wires.



But no skating.


Ice dancing doesn't simply mean dancing on the spot or being carried around by a partner - it also requires some skating skills.

As Chris said - Beth is technically one of the best in the series; Suzanne and Clare could also skate - Hayley cannot. And that is a fact.

As for only a bronze at the Olympics Beth was also a World, European and Commonwealth champion:

It certainly doesn't stop them from continuing to undermark her. Chris made that very clear last night.



Well if people complain that she has been undermarked then it's clear that they feel her routines deserve more recognition; so yes there is certainly annoyance - but it's clear their support is based on ability - otherwise they wouldn't be complaining.


If you've recorded the programme watch it again - Hayley's skates only touched the ice twice. The rest of the time she was holding onto Dan or relying on the wires.

I think Chris knew what he was talking about when he said Beth's routine was the most difficult of the night and deserved the highest mark.

I do think Ray is the most complete package and if the final is between Ray and Beth he should win. I'd be happy with that - but I'd hate to see a non skating cheesy grin with jazz hands succeed over grace and technical skills.

By my calculations both Beth & Hayley must have beaten him in phone vote last night yet it seems to be Beth & her supporters getting most of the the stick.

I feel that you should be having a go at Robin and Karen who, as the experts, have also marked Beth down. Everyone on here seem to be criticising Jason and Ashley when those 2 are as bad.

Think Jayne and Chris would disagree as was shown by Chris finally letting the panel know exactly what he thinks.

As for Ray, yes, very good, but also very cocky, again, shown by his reaction to being in the bottom 2.

I personally liked Sam, just a pity the public wasn't behind him.

As for Hayley, she has shown she cannot skate without Dan.

Beth is as Chris said 'the best skater'

I'm so glad that the majority of DS is supporting Beth to win.

The DS kiss of death if ever there was one. She doesn't stand a chance with DS's support.

Ray didn't react badly in any way to being in the skate off, in fact he said he had prepared himself and knew he was vulnerable. Cocky? Nah.

As i've replied to someone else, Chris has never said Beth is the best skater.

It wasn't very long ago that there were hints and suggestions of a conspiracy against Beth - that J & C were deliberately giving her the worst routines to prevent her doing well. Routines playing to her weaknesses and not her strengths etc. Now Chris is walking on water because he said she had been marked too low. Perhaps if he had given Hayleys routines to Beth then she may well have been given higher scores. Perhaps Chris should be blaming himself instead of the judges. Agree with them or not (and I frequently dont) the judges are paid the give 'their' opinions - they are not paid to give yours, mine nor Chris's.

Blame the judges all you like...They are there to do a job....to judge what is presented before them....and if hayley is poor at skating, beth at performance and ray at flying. ..so be it. Chris had to put some verbal imput in all this....after all his routine for Beth was being criticised here and he doesn't care less now. He must
have known afterwards that there were flaws within and certainly wasn't going to point them out....it's the last series after all !!!

My favourites and those who I personally feel are the best skaters aren't even in the final, those are Laura Hamilton, Chris Fountain and Jorgie Porter.

Jorgie was well and truly screwed over by the producers this year, pairing her with Sylvain was a terrible idea but TPTB wanted their little bit of sensationalism and conflict.

Of those left, I will be supporting Beth, she is the best technical skater and Ray and Hayley are my least favourites of all time.

I just lolled. Talk about a drama queen.
