I think Chris and Jayne (the choreographers) know which routine was the most difficult and which performance was the best. Hayley made only two transitions from air to ice and both were clumsy - for the rest of the flying she did her usual, being guided by Dan - only on this occasion she had extra guidance - the wires.

But no skating.

Ice dancing doesn't simply mean dancing on the spot or being carried around by a partner - it also requires some skating skills.
As Chris said - Beth is technically one of the best in the series; Suzanne and Clare could also skate - Hayley cannot. And that is a fact.
As for only a bronze at the Olympics Beth was also a World, European and Commonwealth champion:
Olympic Games
Bronze 2012 London Uneven Bars
World Championships
Gold 2006 Aarhus Uneven Bars
Gold 2009 London Floor
Gold 2010 Rotterdam Uneven Bars
European Championships
Gold 2006 Volos Uneven Bars
Gold 2009 Milan Uneven Bars
Gold 2009 Milan Floor
Gold 2010 Birmingham Uneven Bars
Gold 2010 Birmingham Floor
Gold 2011 Berlin Uneven Bars
World Cup Final
Gold 2006 Sao Paolo Uneven Bars
World Cup
Gold 2003 Glasgow Uneven Bars
Gold 2004 Cottbus Uneven Bars
Gold 2004 Lyon Uneven Bars
Gold 2005 Glasgow Uneven Bars
Gold 2005 Glasgow Floor
Gold 2006 Glasgow Uneven Bars
Gold 2007 Glasgow Floor
Gold 2009 Glasgow Uneven Bars
Gold 2009 Glasgow Floor
Gold 2010 Paris Floor
Gold 2012 Doha Uneven Bars
Representing England
Commonwealth Games
Gold 2002 Manchester Uneven Bars
That excludes all silver and bronze medals. Not a bad haul for someone who won only bronze at the Olympics.

Should you win even if you are overmarked and can't skate.

Dancing on Ice should have done what SCD did and axe the Skate off when it reaches Top 4 etc. That said, it must be frustrating for the judges to see someone as average each week get saved. When they mark her down for being not as good they get accused of "bullying" and "bias" so now the panel cannot criticise her as the fans will just say this..”
It certainly doesn't stop them from continuing to undermark her. Chris made that very clear last night.

Not the only reason of course, but I think its lame if this comes into it at all in picking the champion of the show. If you think its not, I hope you're right. I want the winner (even if its not my winner) to be there because people believed her/him to be the best skater or because they enjoyed their performance more than anyone else, regardless of what judges have said.”
Well if people complain that she has been undermarked then it's clear that they feel her routines deserve more recognition; so yes there is certainly annoyance - but it's clear their support is based on ability - otherwise they wouldn't be complaining.

I thought that Hayley's flying was far more superior tonight and she deserved the top marks.
!”
If you've recorded the programme watch it again - Hayley's skates only touched the ice twice. The rest of the time she was holding onto Dan or relying on the wires.
I think Chris knew what he was talking about when he said Beth's routine was the most difficult of the night and deserved the highest mark.
Quote:
“I think with Ray being the best skater and Hayley the better performer and equal to Ray in dancing that these two are definitely the best.
Sorry but for me Beth struck lucky last year in winning and she definitely does not deserve the winner of winners this year. That should go to Hayley or Ray”
I do think Ray is the most complete package and if the final is between Ray and Beth he should win. I'd be happy with that - but I'd hate to see a non skating cheesy grin with jazz hands succeed over grace and technical skills.

Are you serious?
Do you really think this is the last series because of Beth?

I suggest you familiarise yourself with the reasons given by Chris and Jayne.
