By my calculations both Beth & Hayley must have beaten him in phone vote last night yet it seems to be Beth & her supporters getting most of the the stick.
ie: Hayley 4 + 2 = 6 Ray 3 + 2 = 5 Beth 2 + 4 = 6 Sam 1 + 1 = 2 Not sure though. Personally, I think Beth came top of the public vote at the weekend. Can't imagine Ray being too far behind either of the girls, looking at other places online he does have good levels of support. |

Ok I know I'll get shot down but I've been reading this and thought I'd give my view which is entirely different from everyone it seems.
To me DOI is a light entertainment show, and as such I want to be entertained. I don't really care how technical a skater is, I'm all about the performance (you can blame being a huge Kids From Fame fan in the 80's). I'm nearly 40 so way past blindly following a favourite no matter what mistakes they make. That stopped when I was 14 and Bros split up! So I will say it...I usually like Hayley the best. I don't care that her technique isn't as good, I love her partnership and performances with Dan. If something gets me in the gut, that's what I go by and that's usually about the performance. I can see how good Beth is technically but she just doesn't do it for me. I like enthusiastic, smily people so like Hayley's personality too. Ray is a cocky little sod but I love watching his performances too, and Sam's were often very entertaining. Everyone is wired different and will hear a song for example, which will make some cry but others will feel nothing. Don't care who wins really but would prefer it to be Ray or Hayley. Ray has been so damn good he probably deserves it, and Hayley entertains me the most, just hope the last week is entertaining. I freely admit watching The Bolero three times in a row bores me to tears. Would rather they did that first and got it out of the way. The end...(just to help you judge me even more harshly for daring to like Hayley, my fave ever skate was Vanilla Ice skating to Ice Ice Baby!) |

Vanilla Ice was an amazing skater, I remember his speed and power.
Wasn't he partnered with Vicky? I'm half-and-half, hopwoodl, I appreciate the performance side of things which Hayley is very attuned to, but skating is the main thing and she is very poor compared to Beth and Ray. Beth's performance skills are better than Hayley's technical abilities though. |

I'm not really bothered who wins to be Honest ,like soneone says ^^^^^^^^^ up there i watch it to be entertained and Beth just doesn't entertain me when she's on the Ice ,so for that reason would've liked her to have gone out this week ,as all the other 3 entertain me to some degree and i enjoy their performances
I wouldn't be at all surprised if Beth now goes on to win the whole thing and said as much when she was saved on Sunday Although Ray is the best of the lot he's too cocky for me ,so would like Hayley to win ,with Ray 2nd and Beth 3rd ,but wouldn't be surprised as i said ,and indeed have the feeling Beth will win ,with Ray coming 2nd and Hayley 3rd |

It's more like Hayley doesn't skate at all than it is like she's just lacking in technique or technical details. Of course, Hayley does skate some, but she is far more limited as a skater than Beth or Ray, and most of her dance moves are not integrated with skating. Instead, she's standing still on the ice, being moved by her partner, continuing a glide already set in motion with her partner's help, or moving on her toe picks. (The toe pick dancing is difficult in its way, but its done because it's easier than trying to dance while skating.) I'm not saying you shouldn't like Hayley's routines or shouldn't prefer them to Beth's. As you say, "everyone is wired different", and that's fine. I'm just trying to explain that the difference in their skating is much greater than your post has it sound. |

The problem with Hayey's skating isn't that her technique isn't as good, or even (really) that she isn't as good technically. That makes it sound like the difference is just in technical details that might matter to skating fans or to the experienced skaters on the judging panel, but wouldn't be evident to most ordinary viewers.

I honestly do get that but still get more enjoyment watching her routines. I don't remember people saying she was a bad skater in her series though. Did she do more then? I can't remember, except that I thought her. Jai Ho performance was amazing

I know it's late - I know we're weary but I've just noticed the misspelling of the title.
Rebellion not Rebellian. I hate myself. ![]() Sorry cannot edit it now ![]() As for @jakelyle I can have an opinion as much as you FYI. I believe Beth winning would be humiliating for the show and too Beth herself. She will win based on backlash support of the other contestants and the judges. Pretty hollow victory for her. That said. If Beth is amazing on finale night like Suzanne Shaw then I will not mind her winning, but ATM she is dreadful sad to say. |

I said much the same in her series, and she didn't do more then. But I think many people weren't so aware then of how she was getting dance moved onto the ice without integrating them with skating. Jai Ho took that approach too: the skating was minimal (except for a spin, though even that was done from a standing start), and most of the dance moves weren't integrated with skating.

So, in the space of two days, she's gone from being an average skater (which she isn't) to being a dreadful one (which she isn't either).
Which show are you watching? Beth is clearly below par to the other past contestants such as Ray / Suzanne / Hayley / Matthew / Matt. I think she would make a dreadful winner to the "All Star" series of Dancing on Ice. If she performs amazing on the finale (which is doubtful) then her win will be tolerable as I always believe the best on the night should win. |

I am not a great fan of Ray ,But he does have the whole package as Mr Nasty says .I would like Hayley to win ..If Beth wins I think it will just be because Jason wasn't a fan .Just My opinion ,I know she has fans ,,Technique yes ..Personality and Dance not much

Ok Yes she IS a nice girl ,But not a worthy WINNER for the whole thing ! It will be a farce IMO if she does ..the series a farce .I agree with you |

I was very aware of how limited Hayley's skating was during her series. The standard wasn't particularly high overall and it seemed a foregone conclusion that she would win even though poor Gary Lucy consistently outskated her. Fair play to her, she makes what skating skills she has go a long way with her sheer exuberance, but for me that's not really enough to deserve a series win. Despite that, I do find her routines entertaining and I can see why some people vote for her.

Okay, I get it. Beth is a nice girl and likeable but this is all stars and champion of champions. How insulting for the shows memory to have someone who is average win over the best contestant ever on the show (Ray). Really don't understand it

I'm not a Beth fan but I have no problem with her winning. DOI is essentially a popularity contest, so anyone who gets the GBP vote is entitled to win. A Beth win is no different from Abbey Clancy's recent SCD win over Natalie Gumede who was supposedly the best ever dancer.
The fact is for me, this is "All Stars" best of the best final ever Dancing on Ice series. Seeing Ray beaten over Beth is just something that completely bemuses me. |

Disagree, you cannot compare SCD to Dancing on Ice as its two completely different shows. Plus comparing Abbey Clancy's standard to Beth is really questionable. In SCD terms I would describe Beth as the Sophie Ellis Bextor of the series. Nice girl but just does not cut it when we reach the near stages of the finale.

The biggest farce would be non-skating Hayley winning!
![]() Ray really should win, and I don't think anything will stop that happening. .. and cheers TraceyUK it was indeed Katie with Vanilla. Her and Vicky look very similar in my defence.

Could Hayley and Ray not have the same public vote, but because she was top of the leaderboard she went through? Would that work out?
ie: Hayley 4 + 2 = 6 Ray 3 + 2 = 5 Beth 2 + 4 = 6 Sam 1 + 1 = 2 Not sure though. Personally, I think Beth came top of the public vote at the weekend. Can't imagine Ray being too far behind either of the girls, looking at other places online he does have good levels of support. |
