Has All Stars changed you perception of any of the skaters?
As the title says, has Series 9 changed your opinion of any of the stars for the better / worse and why?
I've found Ray more enjoyable this series - I really didn't like him in Series 4 but I think he's very deserving of winning (even though he isn't my favourite) due to his skating / dancing skills. On the other hand, I've went off Kyran. I loved him in Series 2 due to his partnership with Mel and found that series the best but this year I've found him way too competitive, not as fun as Series 2 and too whiny about other skaters on Twitter / on the main show / within the VTs. |

I agree and disagree with your point about Kyran. He wasn't as good this time around, but not due to his competitiveness, but because he had such a fun, lively connection with Melanie. Billie Jean, I'll Be There for You, Chasing Cars, ELO- they had such a fun chemistry, which I never felt with Nina. Otherwise much the same. Stopped watching part way through Sam's series due to the gimmicks, and getting rid of Nicky, lack of good celebrities etc, but I haven't warmed to Beth and I initially found Sam annoying and smug, but over the weeks he's grown on me.

I finally warmed to Sam last night, and enjoyed all of his skates. I'v somewhat gone off Hayley, although I was a huge fan of her in her original series. If we're going to have a finalist who's all about the tricks, I'd sooner it were Bonnie, who seems a sweetheart. Hayley is getting on my nerves and seems to have gone backwards in her skills compared to the series that she won.

I still really like Hayley but in her series before I thought she was a brilliant skater... I've now started to see she clings to Dan and Jai Ho is her only really memorable performance.

I have been disappointed in Beth, she hasn't wowed me yet this series and Hayley has remained the same. Sam has improved both technically and with his performance skills. Ray, well Ray is brilliant as always. |

I loved kyran the first time round but being so long since he won, though still good I found him to be not as strong as he was the first time round.
Still can't stand ray , I hate him even more. Arrogant & in love with himself even though I don't think he is good looking at all. Yes he can skate but not all of his skates deserved 4 10's , over marked. A lot of it is favouritism. |

I found Jorgie more likable in her one week on the show - I thought she seemed pretty plastic and phony in her actual series. I also thought Gareth was a much better skater with Brianne than he ever was with Maria. Finally I like Ray more than I did in his series - I think Series 4 was just so bad that it made me feel violent towards the entire edifice.

Not keen/don't like Hayley or Suzanne that much but for me to actually hate them they'd have to do more that just show themselves to be cocky or arrogant in their skills. E.g attacked someone physical for no (good) reason or maybe kill someone!! |

I really disliked the FAKE romance Sam had with his skating pro Brianna when he was last on Dancing on Ice. It irritated me and perhaps it was not his fault (perhaps the producers thought it would be a good headline catcher??) but I went off him then!! This time around with his fiancee I have found them to be a bit cold. He has improved as a skater but sadly Hayley has not and clings frantically to the lovely Dan. I am so out of touch with DoI this year I even forgot it was on last night! Ekkkkkk.

I liked Sam more during the past couple of weeks than I did in his original series. Before, he came across as arrogant but he didn't really come across like that towards the end of his time in this series.

I've realised that Hayley is all style and no substance.

I thought Hayley was well over rated in her series and that has only been cemented in this one when you see her up against all of the other former champs - and even Bonnie! Her only memorable routine was Jai Ho and whilst it looked good - all of the spectacular moves in it were done from a standing start (the spin), standing still (all the armorgraphy) or on her toe picks (most of the rest of it). Sam and Vicky's Bollywood routine didn't look as good because they actually skated it rather can doing the minimum skating. She's all smoke and mirrors - with Dan being very good at concealing her shortcomings - and it hasn't hurt having the panel overmarking and overpraising her week after week whilst ignoring the fact that she barely skates - in a show about dancing on ice based on skating - surely the skating aspect is more important - and Jazz hands and gurning / cheesy grins are not "performance" to me.
Ray is just sublime - sure he doesn't do the big lifts that the others do - but then ice dancing never was about big lifts - its all about moving an sync with your partner in a dance style which he achieves effortlessly. If he doesn't win - its a travesty! |

I was surprised with Zaarah. In here season here skating skills were pretty poor. Her routines were all about performances and tricks and she even failed to pull off required elements (and somehow still got good marks)
This year her Skating was so much better, she looked like she belonged on a skating show. Mind you her performance skills seemed to go down the pan. And Ray and not in a good way. For such a good skating he has simply not put in enough effort. He seems to have thought throughout that he has own and it been playing it safe. While some of the others have been pulling out new elements week in week out he just seems to take the ease way out and repeat elements for example the split jump which has been used a couple of times already this season when he has the skating skills to be trying rotational jumps. One the plus side atleast he can do his goto movies, Sam seems to try the sit lift every single week and hasn't really pulled it off once. Also with Ray he has a music and musical background yet I have felt his musicality has been lacking in pretty much all his routines. He isn't skating to the music, its always skated faster than the music, it seemed at times like him and Sam are having a private compitition to see who can skate fastest rather than skating to the music |
