Stacey herself OK but story surrounding it is one of the worst ever...her and Kat should have just met up for a brew sometimes...happy Stacey, happy Kat....now there isn't a single happy person apart of course, judging by the spoilers, Janine

This. Really sent Kat backwards as a character. As she said to Alice, Michael was her friend in the end. The Kat that left in 2005 wouldn't do anything that she knew would hurt Alfie. She needs to prove that she can do that, not run around making false statements and giving him reason to be suspicious of her.

Part of me is also surprised that Janine went that far. She's clever enough to know that it realistically isn't going to work, and if it did, does she want Scarlett to hate her? She saw how screwed up Michael was over his family and Scarlett could end up worse, as it was actually Janine's doing that she doesn't have a father. If she cared about Scarlett she'd take the fallout of her actions pleading self-defence or whatever.

I'm just wondering how they're going to write her back into the square, because whatever happens with Kat and this perjurygate I don't see Stacey wanting to leave Jeans and come back to Walford

EDIT: Also we saw Patrick and Cora's reaction to Stacey, so obviously word has gotten around about her. If she came back, would we see her continually having to explain to everyone that she didn't stab Janine, even though we know she wacked Archie over the head.

I think she would explain once that she didn't stab Janine, then we'd see a few people gossip about it and that would be it.

Wondering if there is going to be a secret return of Sean. Stacey would return if Sean did. I also think that eventually, Stacey will come back and front it out as Kat said. She did want that life back, so although she didn't agree with what Kat had to do to get it, I think she'll come back and go to stay with Jean every so often.

With Kat out of character dropping poor Alice up the creek

Second the vote for sickening.

She's returned with the identical pained/furrowed brow expression on her face she left with last time, the storyline they've introduced her back with has caused the other characters to act 'out of character'. The whole thing seems forced just to facilitate her return.

Never saw a point of bringing her back to the show, and I'm not really pleased to see her completely dominate once again.

I loved stacey but her return didn't do it for me. I didn't see the need in bringing her back. These past few weeks have bored me legless. It also hasn't shown Alfie and Kat in a great light either. Alfie has been a nasty manipulating little arse, while Kat has come across as a self centred cow who just wants her "our stace" back, without thinking about Stacey's real feelings and the life she built for herself since leaving. If that had been me, i would of let Stacey live her life the way she wanted to, not for my own selfish gain.

Exactly, Kat has basically gone out of her way to ruin what happiness Stacey had. You'd think her main concern would be maintaining her reconciliation with Alfie and upholding their 'honesty' pact, the twin pregnancy (which in non-soapland would be a high risk pregnancy considering her history and current age) and their only recent financial difficulties (which seem to have vanished upon Alfie's return).

It's obviously going to happen, but I don't believe that Stacey would pick Kat and Albert Square over being far, far away from trouble with her mother Jean.

I almost don't need to post seeing as you've said all I wanted to say. I love Stacey but, putting the horrors of Kat and Alfie to one side, it's an absolutely ridiculous storyline. There is no realistic return for her with the murder charge hanging over her head.

Stacey's return has been total crap. Given the way she swanned out of Walford in the wake of a murder it was always going to be difficult to bring her back plausibly, but they have really taken the mick with this storyline. The fake passport/assumed identity, the fact she was living in such close proximity to Walford - and don't even get me started on the ridiculous visit Kat and Stacey paid to Janine in prison. Ludicrous.

I was largely indifferent when I heard Stacey was returning, and I say this as a former fan of the character; I didn't think she had been away long enough for her return to make much impact. But they've brought her back only to play the 'poor, tragic little victim' yet again and it's almost sickening. She "didn't mean" to kill Archie, she was "defending herself". Oh please. She can sod off for good, to be honest.

Stacey will only get interesting again when she comes face to face with Ronnie and Roxy because we have no idea how they will react to her return. We need some proper drama.

My take on that was that she was trying to win Luke back, as she and Kat had established that it was the only way. He was hardly going to come around if she said, "He raped me and 10 weeks later after a stay in hospital, I killed him."

Forgive me if i miss anything or remember wrongly or something (only been watching religiously for a couple of months, but dipped in and out for a long while before that), but a couple of things strike me as odd about the whole thing:

Alfie - Would expect Kat to do anything to help one of his family, but wanted rid of Stacey from the start.

Max - Would rather his own NIECE do life for a crime she didn't commit to keep Stacey out the nick?

Have i missed something re:Max? I know he fell out with Derek, but did that affect his relationship with Alice?

BIB - We'd probably got an episode where she encounters looks from everybody ect and then finally whilst in The Vic she just snaps and shouts at everybody, insisting she didn't stab Janine and that'd be the end of it.

That whole family apart from Carol has pretty much turned their back on Alice to be honest. They really do not care
Very sad really when you think about it.

Max never had a relationship with Alice. Considering Derek only knew found out about her in the year he died. I didn't expect Max to form any familial bonds with Joey and Alice and vice versa. The fact Joey got it on with Lauren would further kill any family bond Max would have formed with Joey and Alice.

Then you've got Stacey who has shared every relationship possible with Max sexual (the affair), familial (becoming his daughter-in-law) and then friendly (after all they've been through).

Its very plausible Max would care more about Stacey than Alice. I wouldn't be surprised if Bianca stays friends with Kat after finding out what she's done. Distant family don't/should'nt all of a sudden mean something to people when threatened..

Not really. Thy didn't know a thing about her until she turned up on the square - then they hear she was involved in a murder... I think they're counting themselves lucky.

What's sad is Alice's mum who according to Joey "just don't wanna know"
