She made up a lie that is most likely going to result in Alice going down for a very long time for something she did not do. If Kat had not interfered in Stacey's life, none of this would have happened, but in my mind, Kat is now scum because she would put an innocent lady down to serve her own interests

I think Kat will be found out by the police for lying eventually because Carol gets involved. Not sure how it'll tie in with the scenes that Charlie Brooks filmed recently though.

I wish that Kat hadn't done it but as Stacey is a member of her family whom she loves unconditionally and for most people, family comes first I can see why she did what she did. Still, I agree that she should have left Stacey alone and not sought her out. If Stacey has chosen to live a lie then that is her choice and the responsibility for that lies on her shoulders not anyone else's.

Alice conspired to poison Janine and kidnap Scarlett.

She would not be let off free of charges. She would be sent down either way and it's bizarre that the show is completely refusing to acknowledge this. Even Janine. It would be one of her best bargaining tools.

The show has been acknowledging this, in so far as noting that Alice was heavily manipulated by Michael, and given how scary he could be...

If that is the case, Kat would not be able to escape jail. Falsifying evidence and lying to the police are very serious offences, she should have thought of that before running to the police. Stacey didn't ask for Kat to do that. All she has done is make things even worse.

Surely another character can pin point Kat not at Janine's house when Michael died.
Can't actually remember where Kat was tho, but Michael was stabbed while the police were at the door. They would of seen Kat in the house too

We were having this discussion about where Kat was on another thread and not sure we got an answer. I have a feeling she was actually at the Slater house on her own so nobody would be able to confirm she wasn't there. However, it seems very unlikely that the Police wouldn't have immediately checked the back yard and they'd have seen anybody leaving at the front when waiting for the door to be opened. It is sooo weak it's untrue and Kat should go to Prison for perjury

I don't expect Kat to escape jail for it and with Stacey at Jean's, I think she'll start to see the error of her ways and how there are many ways she could get caught out (coming forward after so long, just before Janine drops a statement, people probably knowing she was nowhere near Janine's on the night of Michael's death.)

The thing is though, Kat has done this but it wasn't her idea, she didn't set out to do it. Janine manipulated her and Kat thinks she has no other choice and in the scheme of things Alice is more guilty than Stacey is when you compare the crimes as Stacey didn't actually stab Janine. Alice was actually involved in the Michael situation.

But then the fact she has done this is now making her just as bad but really, it's Janine that is responsible for this so it will be interesting to see how it works.

Didnt David record Janines confession? What happen to that?

Is it not enough evidence?

I wonder if Kat will spend time in prison at all for bigamy?
Think that could be brilliant and show a new side to her, we all know how tough Kat says she is but seeing her in that envioronment could be great to watch. Also she could just happen to meet the one and only Chrissie Watts in there, just for a short stint, but that would be epic considering the past they share.

Janine's lawyers will say he forced her to say it I imagine, while pointing out that Kat 'saw' Alice do it.

It's surprising that Stacey didn't find anything odd about Kat being out when she went to get her phone. Alfie should have suspected also, as it shouldn't have taken her any time at all to get chocolate for Tommy and Lily.

It'll be perjury and not bigamy, as bigamy is going through a wedding ceremony when you're already married. I would love to see that, but if it did I could see her ending up with extra time for threatening/smacking Chrissie.

When did Kat commit bigamy?

Thanks Kim - yes obviously the poster meant perjury not bigamy.

Kat and Alfie are BOTH being idiots IMO. Alfie has been a plank throughout this entire storyline and Kat has behaved just as stupidly as him.

Alfie is a faux detective who adds two and two together to get fifty (Kat's supposed affair with Max, Stacey's reasons for not taking her medicine). Kat's trying far too hard to bring Stacey back that she might as well shout it through a megaphone to the entire Square. As for Alfie's contrived phonecall that Luke just so happened to hear....rolleyes.

Yes, it's come to something when Alfies the one talking sense!!
It actually says much more to me when Stacey's lecturing Kat on interfering in/ruining her new life and telling her how wrong it is to let Alice take the blame for Michael's murder.

Kat should have sat on the other side of the bus that day.

She isn't the good guy in all of this but they have to somehow get Stacey free and Janine free and since the actress who plays Alice isn't going to be returning any time soon, this is the best way to get everything to work out.

As long as it helps to preserve Dame Stacey's Saintly image, they'll throw any character under the bus.

I'm sure Kat's being in prison before for soliciting prostitution, however that was done off-screen though.

To be fair to Alfie, Kat has lied to and cheated on him before so it's not surprising he thought she was seeing Max.

I was really starting to like Kat again until this happened. She is really willing to see an innocent girl get sent down for murder and the real culprit walk free for killing the father of her own child. Never mind the huge plot holes of the police not even questioning her visits to Janine in prison and Kat suddenly coming forward after 4 months and them believing she witnessed something that took place at the back of the house minutes before they arrived.

I get that, however, he was either incapable of digging any deeper or else couldn't be bothered and just jumped to that conclusion. It wouldn't have been difficult for him to try and uncover the truth, if he really wanted to.

I do have to say that the rose in Kat's bag was as contrived as they come!
