Im after a DVD with a price tag of around £160 at the most

Here is the one I think I will get

http://www.johnlewis.com/stores/prod...134538&str=916

This is only £150 at richer sounds and is VCD / SVCD and multi region

Im not too bothered about multi-region it would be nice though

Would basically like a player that falls into these catagories
-£160 max
-MUST Plays SVCD/VCD/CDR/DVD
-Decent looking // make i.e no "harry big button sort of crap you would get from adsa"

Any help on this most appreciated, if you can recommend one a URL would be helpful

Thanks

Hi
I recommend the Toshiba SD210E, it is the machine I habe, it plays every thing you throw at it (within reason) like DVD/VCD/SVCD/AudioCD/CDR(W)/CDTEXT and even MP3.

But I dont know about Multiregion and RCE.

Check out (if its ok with the moderator):-

Hope it helps,

Its £185 (£25 more), but I cannot reccomend more the Prima EP-DVD650.

http://www.beststuff.co.uk/prima_dvd.htm

It plays these discs:
MP3 discs
Audio CDs
CD-R and CD-RW
Video CDs
Super Video CDs
HDCDs
CD-DA CDs
CD-I CDs

The other features are something else too, such as karaoke. You'll see the rest on the link.

It also has macrovision disabled or not even built in, so I make backups of MY OWN DISCS-remember, You never removed the macro, it was never there, so as long as your backups are for YOURSELF, your not breaking the law. The DD5.1 decoder's a great feature too, though I havent tested it out yet cos im not gonna have DD5.1 with passive speakers!

The remote is great, at first it looks very confusing because most of the buttons are the same shape so u have to look around but after a couple of weeks, U know where all the basic functions are.

This player was brought to europe from the east, where prima modified it for europe, but your player is not just something rebadged for a dodgy market. It plays all regions with a hack found at VCD help:

http://www.vcdhelp.com/dvdplayershac...%20EP%20DVD650

I managed to get a discount through a CD player being ordered and then went missing in the post-So we got a discount of £25-it was because I didnt get my birthday present on time because of corrupt postmen!!!!

I could not reccomend it more-I havent seen anything other than a DVD recorder that is better in terms of versatility and quality.

Thanks,
DJ Moore
