iPad/iPod power leads
Does anybody know if these leads are interchangeable between ipod(touch) and ipad(3). The reason I ask is that tried to charge my ipad whilst at work but someone has borrowed my charge lead, so I went through mt bag and found the charge lead from my pod touch. When plugged into the pad it says it is charging for about half a second then say not charging, just like when you plug into an unregistered PC. Is their really any difference between leads.

Do you mean just the white cable, or the plug/adaptor as well?

The plug in adapter has not changed since I last charged it at work succesfully but the white cable has.

It's fine. The USB to 30-pin cable is the same for all products.

Good point!
I must confess I had only speed-read the OP, and I'd missed the fact that the iPad wasn't charging. To offer a fuller contribution... If the iPod touch cable pre-dates the iPad it could potentially be an older design not intended to charge the iPad. Whilst they are all the same now it's a possibility they weren't always. |
