Phil, Christine and Judges get their skates on
Goodness; if - as the article states - Philip & co have been practising for a whole 2 weeks, then they should be really good, shouldn't they? What do you mean - NO!!!
I thought Phil was having off-camera skating lessons a few years ago? I've no idea how good he got, but I expect him to be competent at a very basic level.
I wonder how good / bad Jason and Ashley will be considering they are often the most critical of the contestants, will be interesting to see them put their money where their mouth is.

There's a tour DVD from a few years ago (can't remember which one) but in one of the backstage clips it shows Jason fooling about on the ice - so he can definitely skate

Why? They're not skating judges and have never professed to be. They judge the performance side of things (i.e. dancing and acting).
Can the finalists judge them? I'd love to see Beth give Jason a whole load of criticism over his performance

Yes but it'll be entertaining to see how well they can perform while on a pair of ice skates. One earlier poster said Jason can skate but it'll still be interesting to see Ashley and Philip.

I agree. She presented 6 series so it'd be nice to see her even if she's just sitting in the audience and Christine and Phil talk to her briefly.

Don't you mean his mouth? I always assumed that his mouth was located where his arse should be on the basis of what usually comes out of it.
I'm actually surprised that this is happening. For all that the article says Phillip refused to skate previously, I remember him being quite keen to do so at one point and being quite annoyed that he kept getting kicked off the ice by the powers that be, because he wasn't insured to skate on the show. It's one thing Robin and Karen skating but I'm surprised that the powers that be are allowing Phillip, Christine, Jason and Ashley to do so as well.
