Well said! Hayley barely put a foot wrong and she was totally amazing tonight. She has improved week on week in this series and done so well.
Yes Ray might be the best skater but it's called "dancing on ice' and Hayley does that very well indeed! Personally, I enjoyed most of Hayley's performances but I was always very aware that she was doing a lot less difficult stuff than the other contestants (even during the series she won, where the overall standard was pretty low). She could barely stay upright during her solo skate a couple of weeks back, and it would have been a bit embarrassing if she'd actually won the show. |

Throughout series I have sometimes found her totally OTT but then again at other times just lovely to watch - at those times I tend to forget about the technical difficulty and just enjoy the moment! Her first dance in the final was (for me) the best of all three.
I am glad Ray won (I voted for him) but even though Ray has both the performance and technical skills I can still see why Hayley is so popular. I think Suzanne may have been better technically but maybe she tried to do things she couldnt quite achieve - or didnt have the time to perfect? Every week there seemed to be 'something' that went wrong for her and unfortunately that may have cost her votes. For that reason alone Hayley was sensible to stay with what she could technically achieve well and so give a better overall performance. That said though I'm glad she didnt win but perfectly happy that she came second. . |
