monitor/tv
didn't know wether to put this in , tv's , pc's or gaming .
pc world ,,, of all places lol , seems to have the best price for what i require . i want a 27' display ,, or higher ,,,,,, tv or monitor ,,,,,, not fussed as tv tuner will never be used. just for ps3 blu ray /netflix /games the space in my bedroom built in alcove is tight , so even though i may fit in a 32' tv , i think it would have to be almost bezzeless and erm standless lol ,,,,,, space is 34 inch width by 19 1/2 inch height if it has to be a monitor then ips is a must. ,,,,, may as well have the best possible quality screen. anyhow pcworld have an aoc model thats 27' ips for £199 ,,,,,,,, think i may buy this at the weekend ,,,,,,, unless you guys can find better. any and all help appreciated ,,,,, cheers , lee |

I bought a ASUS VE278Q for £166 the other day from the warehouse though not have it yet but looks like a good screen.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-VE278Q-.../dp/B0041RXPQY These were the others I had in mind to http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1944312 |

cheers for the response m8 appreciated .
its a minefield isn't it ,,,,,,,, so much choice , and different screen technologies . ,,,,, yours looks good for the price ,,,,,,,, asus get good reviews but ive read a lot of reviews , and think ( though i could be wrong ) that the general concensus is that ips screens are best in terms of viewing angles , colour , overall picture quality. theres a cpl of non ips screens that read good in your link ,,,, especially the liyama prolite for 198quid. that last one you metion '' the amazon deal '' ,,,,, looks almost identical to the pcworld one ,,, but is 20 cheaper , so well done and thanks. thing is , im not rich , and only want to do this once ,,,,spending 2-300 is a big decision to me , so i want to get it right first time. ,,,,,,, ,,,, anyone else ? |

For what you are going to use it for a TV would probably be the best bet. The main advantage of a monitor is in the general PC work areas.

update ,,,,,, managed to lower a cpl of the shelves in the alcove ,,,,,, and got a 39' sharp for 279 from richers with free 5yr guarantee
absolute tight squeeze with hardly a millimetre to spare lol ,,,,,,,,, it dominates the room but i'll get used to it. plus i sold the sandstrom for 70quid with 5months still on the 12month guarantee . |
